Overview

Unfaithful

Presented in anamorphic widescreen with English 5.1 Surround Sound, Unfaithful looks beautiful and sounds crisp and clear. Fox did a great job with all the extras on the disc, providing many more than were expected. The best of the list includes the deleted scene file, which contains an alternate ending to the much-griped-about theatrical version. All deleted scenes are available with or without director Adrian Lyne's commentary, which is very enlightening. Other extras include two screen-specific commentaries: one with Lyne and another with Diane Lane and co-star Olivier Martinez. The director's commentary is much better, as it sounds as if Lane and Martinez recorded their dull-as-dishwater chats in two separate recording studios in two separate time zones. Then there's the behind-the-scenes featurette called "An Affair to Remember." Inside, viewers are given a glimpse into everything from Lyne's love of French films to why Martinez got into show business. The cast interviews feature was surprisingly interesting and well-edited, and the excerpt from The Charlie Rose Show revealed yet another side of actors' lives as well as the history of this film. To round out the disc there is an editing featurette with Anne Coates, hard-to-read director's script notes, and trailers. All of these special features should be enjoyed after watching the entire film first, as Unfaithful does provide a wallop of a plot shift that promises to be ruined if the extras are viewed at the start.

I saw this when it came out in the theater and it was so hot it made all the women in the theater squirm. I was one of them. Diane Lane's performance is intense. I read she had a drink or two before doing some of the love scenes. I can imagine! I'm definitely going to buy this DVD!

What can I say, three EXTREMELY TALENTED and DROP DEAD GORGEOUS actors and one HOT entertaining movie. Richard Gere, Diane Lane, and Olivier Martinez performances are superb and exuberant with sizzling sexuality . And let us not forget the Adrien Lyne, a high-voltage director., who examines the ins and outs of marital infidelity in this movie. ''Unfaithful'' is intriguing, romantic, titillating, and fascinating, portraying the need to break routine and cause change in one's life even if that change is painful and unnecessary. It also demonstrates the possible consequences of such destructive behaviors. I think some of the critiques should keep their opinion to themselves. I was fascinated and highly entertained by ''Unfaithful'' and have watched it several times already. Richard Gere is one the most handsome men alive. Diane Lane is absolutely beautiful and elegant. Olivier Martinez with his gypsy designer-stubble beautiful face, blue eyes and French accent has my vote for the BEST LOOKING BAD BOY.

This movie is very realistic. This is a difficult subject to deal with. I like the fact that the movie did not make excuses for the woman having an affair. She just got way over her head. The movie showed how she destroyed her family without the movie preaching morals.

This movie in my own opinion is one out of ten stars. This movie is a soap opera. You will realize this is true when you notice that 80 to 90% of the people that like this movie are women. If you want to watch a drama, do a web search for dramas that are worth your time. I'd suggest searching the 25 or 50 greatest dramas ever to select a film. If you want to watch something that has some spice and sex, then get a porno. The softcore porn on Cinemax is better than this movie not only in sex scenes, but in plot.
