I just loved Vampire Hunter D. I love a good Vampire story every now and then. It's a must see if you like a good one. I also love the animation. Someone said that it kinda looked like an oldish style, but that's the kind that I like. D is awesome and he looks cool too!

this was okay but still cool and might be a favorite to any but not all. this is the story of the hunter d who turns out is a vampire but hunting his own kind. heard that theme before? check this out and also see its equally good sequel bloodlust. the story may stray a little bit like its sequel but in the end it turns out alright as with many movies other than anime.

This was the first anime I was ever introduced to. But it is only now I see how deep it is. Filled with emotion and hidden meanings this is worth a second, third, and many more viewings. The caracter designs are excellent, the story, complex and inviting, and the context is great. If you love fantasy, sci fi, or just want to see a great classic anime pick it up. Also stay tuned for the release of the new Vampire Hunter D videogame and movie due out fall 2000

Vampire Hunter D, a dark, exciting, and action filled movie, gives any anime fan what they want most. Good story telling, great animation and something a little different from everything else. Vampire Hunter D is a prime example of what most Anime artists and producers try to achieve with their art and storytelling. Anime fans can only hope that other anime will continue in the glorious tradition of excellence that this movie displays.

I'm sure that this is not a bad movie, it's just that I read the book, and the differences are too vast for me to focus on the film itself. Why can't there be a movie based on a book that follows the storyline? And why does every anime have skimpily dressed women with absurd sexuality? Why????

This was a very good film but the animation looks a little dated. The sequel to Vampire Hunter D, Bloodlust was in the theaters about 1 or 2 months ago and I hope you caught it. The story was at least as good as the first and the animation was superb. I am definitely looking forward to a DVD release of that one. One question however: Why no widescreen version?
