If i could give this so called documentary zero stars i would. After watching this i am supposed to believe that every thing that goes wrong in the world is the fault of wal-mart. Everything from crime to health care. For the most part i just wanted to tell the people in the movie to cry me a river. The company i work for provides insurance and takes a pretty good chunk out of each of pay checks to pay for it and yes i still have to pay a co-pay until i meet my detuctible. Does that mean i should be out protesting my company? The part about wal-mart not doing anything about crime in their parking lots was almost laughable to me. I'm sure that no other business has had a crime committed in their parking lots. Yeah right! It's a rough and sometimes violent world out there folks it is not wal-marts job to hold your hand. Are you going to blame wal-mart if you are walking down the street and someone attacks you too? Liberals started welfare and other forms of government assistance and then they bash walmart for not paying enough and there employees taking advantage of the government assistance. But what about other companies that do not pay their employees enough and they need to get public assistance how come you are not bashing them? Or is the assistance just for illlegal aliens or people that do not want to work? I will admit that i did feel bad for the people that lost their businesses. But small businesses have been forced out of business since the founding of our counry it is called progress and competition. Liberals call themselves progressives accept when it comes to business and competition after watching this movie is obviously a dirty word. Sorry but i cannot afford to pay the smaller stores higher prices. That is why i shop at wal-mart. Not because i think that they are a perfect company. But because i can afford to shop there. If someone else had lower prices i would shop there. I get alittle tired of being lectured by people that live in fancy houses and drive fancy cars as a couple of people in the movie did. Lecturing me about the evils of wal-mart and shopping there. For a big majority of us that live in the real world wal-mart is one the only places we afford to shop at.

This is a great movie but does not mention 'dead peasant' life insurance policies Walmart takes out on employees with Walmart as the beneficiary. Home Depot needs to be featured next by Greenwald as the number 2 retailer.Here's why: 1) Home Depot is as anti-union as Walmart,with similar propaganda and employee monitoring.Home Depot says supervisors are management yet are hourly and therefore exempt from joining unions. 2)Home Deot employees incur many thousands of dollars in medical expenses and clothing replacement as a result of injuries and damage performing store- assigned work. 3) Home Depot claims it is "impossible" to schedule every store employee one weekend off per month. 4) Home Depot store and district management allegedly routinely manipulate timekeeping records which falsifies actual coverage in various areas in their stores and for other purposes. 5) Inventory fraud is common throughout stores with district and store management approval. 6) Employees are monitored in breakrooms and salaried management coached on how not to appear as if they know about work performed off the clock. 7) Supervisors have NO CONTROL over who is hire,fired,disciplined, and very little control over performance reviews. 8) Employees who contact the internal alert line appear to identified by cross-referencing employee phone numbers with phone numbers billed to the 800 alert line and anonymous callers are considered by HR management as "underground agitators". 9) OSHA empowers Home Depot to cripple employees through musculoskeletal injuries which will burden taxpayers billions of dollars in the future and which are avoidable through reasonable staffing. 10) Home Depot management rotuinely designs hit lists to target employees for harassment and to make them quit. 11)Home Depot allows widespread returns fraud, taking it out of employee pay and benefits and store profits.

An eye-opening film. Excellent with many strong facts. It wouldn't be necessary if Wal-Mart did not actively seek to break labor laws nationwide. Unions are a good thing. This is a must watch show.

Ben Stein should be ashamed of himself. Taking time on CBS Sunday morning to say "those people at Walmart look happy to me". This company has no shame. They push the envelope of evil to the point that would make Saddam blush. They do not care about anybody but themselves. Hey Ben instead of crying at the resignation of Nixion perhaps you might shed a tear for all those who have lost everything due to this company. A company that knows no bottom to the level it will sink to squeeze the almighty dollar from those who can ill afford to give it. I will NEVER SHOP AT Walmart, neither should you...after seeing this movie...could anyone?
