Western Collector's Set, Vol. 4
This set from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment offers a collection of four lesser-known western features. It opens with two Canadian productions - the 1998 Nothing's Too Good For a Cowboy, starring Ted Atherton and Ryan Gosling as a congressman's son and a cowboy struggling to build the world's biggest cattle ranch, and the 1988 Cowboys Don't Cry, a family drama about a father and son battling their way through the rodeo circuit. The collection then jumps back to 1975 for God's Gun, a western thriller with genre favorite Lee Van Cleef (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) as twins of differing temperament, one of whom gets shot dead, and the other of whom gets tapped by a young man to free a town from the domination of an evil gang leader (Jack Palance). Finally, the 1995 Painted Hero stars a pre-Sling Blade Dwight Yoakam as Kidder, a rodeo hero who encounters danger and adventure in Waco, Texas.
