This is a very sweet movie that totally defied my expectations. It takes a little while to really get going and there were a few things that could have been done better, but the acting is superb, the characters are lovable, the script is excellently written and the casting is perfect. Russell Crowe makes an excellent bad guy, Colin Firth makes a sweet hero, Jennifer Connelly is amazing and Will Smith makes his small part really, really awesome (seriously, best Will Smith movie I've seen in a while). The time-skips in the beginning should have been a bit better marked, the whole fangs thing with Will wasn't necessary, it wasn't bad, just not needed, and there is an opportunity in the 2014 time skip that is just totally missed. Overall, this is a really good movie that takes a little while to figure out what's going on but really picks up and totally defied what I thought it was going to be. I whole heartedly enjoyed this movie.

An odd story, but a beautiful and romantic love story.  Lovely romantic interlude between the two main characters.  Hello Hollywood, why can't you make more love stories with such happiness?
