I still remember when ''Dynasty'' was released in 1979. All of us Kiss fans were like 6 year olds at Christmas! Then, it hit! The first time I heard ''I was made for lovin' you'' I almost had a stroke! What happened to the heavy metal mayhem masters! Well, now, some 22 years later, I must say that I really appreciate what a fine album ''Dynasty'' is! ''I was made'' is a killer song. Call it disco, call it what you like, it's a catchy tune. And who can say anything about Ace's redention of ''2,000 Man''? ''Sure know something'' is a great tune too. ''Charisma'' is very slick, as is ''Magic Touch''. ''X-Ray eyes'', ''Dirty Livin''', & ''Hard Times'' are a little lame, but ''Save Your Love'' is a great ending. I think that perhaps the defining moment for Kiss occured on this album, as we saw Ace go from guitarist to vocalist, & Kiss was never the same. It almost seems that Kiss lost their guitar player, as Ace became more & more focused on singing, & less & less focused on playing guitar. This was sad, because without Ace, Kiss was a good band, but not a GREAT band! I think he truly was the glue that held it all together. I saw Kiss on the Dynasty tour, & they looked unsettled, & I could tell Ace had his eyes on solo projects. But, Ace as solo was the same way. Ace without Kiss was good, but not GREAT. Nevertheless, ''Dynasty'' is a good album, & you should treat yourself to it.
