This is the best complete collection of e.e.cummings work I have seen to date. Students and admirers both will find plenty to study in this anthology of his writing. Works published posthumously are included. A marvelous addition to a personal or public library.

There is no poet that seems to speak to me more than e.e. cummings. I don't know how he does it (or did it) and examining it too closely is probably not the best idea. His poetry just frankly makes my stomach flop over. For good or ill.

This got to be the poet who has meant most to me, and he has followed me through life. Cummings has this marvelous perceptiveness that make things stand out from the background as small gems and handfuls of reality. His sentences have the syntax of thoughts half thought and voices that murmur in the back of our minds. His imagery is as fresh and clear and wonderful as a day in spring, and his issues are always the only ones that really count; closeness, love, friendship, time, nature and death. This is the book that always makes me feel alive and happy to be so. It came to me the first time I fell seriously in love, and it never fails to revive the magic of those days. When I sit around reading it my wife laughs at me and says: "So it's that time of the year again!" Which it is. An incredible book.

EE Cummings is my personal favorite poet. I could write essays about why I love his poetry- I will spare you that here. Suffice it to say that lovers of Cummings will find this edition clear, complete, and beautifully presented.

My Thoughts: This is kind of a book review, but not completely a book review. This is more along the lines of a couple paragraphs of me going off on the experience of reading every poem by the wonderful E.E. Cummings over all of 2012. That’s right. I read every E.E. Cummings poem in a year. I am quite proud of this. I had read a few handfuls of E.E. Cummings poems before buying this book but I knew I was going to love it. And I wasn’t wrong. I was completely right. I LOVED THESE POEMS. I started marking the page every time I found a poem I wanted to reread again and again. I ended up marking 52 altogether. There’s just something about his poetry that draws me in and captivates me. It’s hard to explain completely how much you can take away from poetry when you read it. I can see how certain poems or poets can be hard to read, but when you find one that is enjoyable it is truly a great experience. E.E. Cummings is that poet to me. My Rating: Exceptional

e.e. cummings was a very sensual and physical writer. There is so much more that what you HAD to read in high school. He gets his point across without being vulgar. You can almost feel what he is saying.
