A curriculum designed to help learners write an extended essay one paragraph at a time through a process of class-wide, small-group and individual work. Learners and teachers work together developing ideas that reinforce their school's curriculum while discovering ways to live in harmony with nature. The Proposal portion of the book encourages learners to learn skills necessary to develop a sustainable living environment in the event that the Earth had to be evacuated. Each paragraph of the proposal essay is built upon organizational tools such as mind maps, timelines and vocabulary building skills that help the learner prepare for discussions, develop knowledge and make presentations along the way. The final project in the book is writing a Narrative about their personal part in Evacuating Earth. In this portion of the book, learners have the opportunity to apply the knowledge that they have gained throughout the year as well as entertain their audience with inventive aspects of escape from impending doom, adventure through space and ultimately developing a new civilization. This book is intended for cross-curricular use and can be used in a classroom by one teacher or can be utilized as a platform between teachers of different subjects. The intention of this book is to help learners become independent thinkers and leaders as well as offer teachers a tool to work with their colleagues and also return to the greatest pleasure of the teaching profession: Growing with their learners. This work incorporates the long-time teaching experience of Dr. Gary Hoover's curriculum development with his work with developing environmentally friendly curriculum.
