About the Author

James Scala, Ph.D., is a certified nutritional specialist who has a B.A. from Columbia University, a Ph.D. from Cornell, and did postdoctoral work at Harvard University. His professional accomplishments include research, teaching, corporate management, lecturing, and writing. He has been the nutritionist for the U.S. Olympic ski team, the Voyager flight, and three Mt. Everest expeditions. He lives in Lafayette, California.

This book helped me so much. I had no idea that some of the foods that I was eating were causing so many of my problems. Having elimated the wrong foods, and eating the right ones, I am now in remission. It is also a great book for anyone wishing to eat a well balanced diet.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and UC and I did so much research on my own and then founds this book. I follow almost everything that it says and I have stopped all my meds except the Bentyl (cramping medication). I have told many people about it and they have bought the same book and feel much better just by doing what the book tells you. I feel so much better because of this book. Great book to invest in.

This book is amazing! I've lowered my Asacol dosage from 2,400 mg per day to only 800 mg per day...just by changing my diet!!

I was just diagnosed with IBD (suspicion of Crohn's) very recently and this book provided a lot of information the doctor didn't give me. The only thing it needs is a total list of foods that are a 'Do', 'Warning', or 'Don't' for people with my condition. Definitely recommend.
