About the Author

For over fifteen years, Herb Williams wrote a humor/satire column, titled “Life and Times,” which was published in three California newspapers: the Southeast Cities Tribune, in Norwalk; the Los Cerritos Community News in Cerritos; and the Redlands Daily Facts in Redlands.
Some of the columns echoed thirty-two years of high school teaching and others reflected forty years of on the road experience including travels throughout all of the United States and Canada, several excursions into Mexico and Europe, and extensive tours of China, Australia and New Zealand. He has also been published in national magazines: Trailer Life, Motorhome, and Trailblazer.
His fifth book, Echoes From Down Under is a humorous account of travels throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Easy Writing Across the Curriculum or Anywhere Else, his first book, is a how-to manual containing a complete, sequential program of lessons and examples that can be used to facilitate the writing process in a non-threatening way.
North to Alaska with a No-Account Cat, his second book, humorously narrates a ninety day, 5,000 mile motorhome journey from Vancouver, British Columbia to Fort Macleod Alberta, by way of Alaska and the Yukon.
Only the Faces Change, his third book, satirizes thirty-two years of teaching in a public high school.
Where the Crown, Kilt & Shamrock Take You, his fourth book, romps humorously throughout England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.
Born in Maywood, California, Herb grew up in Bell and Huntington Park, served in the US Marine Corps, earned a Master’s Degree in both English and Secondary Education at Los Angeles State University, and taught English, psychology and advanced composition at Montebello High School near Los Angeles, California. He is retired and lives in Redlands, California with his wife, Sharon.

Herb Williams’ fifth book, Echoes from Down Under, is a humorous narrative of travels throughout Australia and New Zealand, complete with maps, histories (a yearly waterless, bottomless boat race), legends (a red light district, dimmed a bit), amusing activities (observing the female Kiwi that lays an egg almost as big as itself), and facts (Australia not only monopolizes the strange animal kingdom—especially egg laying mammals—it also accommodates more things that can kill you than anywhere else in the world)..
