This is labeled as a novel for Young Adults ... not something I would normally read ...which is why one should totally ignore when a book is placed in only one category. Mallory Park is a 16-year-old high school student during the day and a superior hacker (Echo Six) at night. Suffering from a severe phobia of being touched, she is much more comfortable in her own home in front of her computer. Her father has his own problems with PTSD, her mother has left the family, and that leaves Mallory also taking care of her younger brother. Being a hacker is the one thing that helps with her stress. She is one of the Elites, respected and even made into a moderator of the elusive Forum - an ever-changing community of very talented hackers who uncover the truth behind shady corporate practices and share it with the world. But suddenly, hackers are going missing. If you're only a teenager, even with good hacking skills, and those worries turn to physical dangers, who do you turn to ... who do you trust? After all .. what you see on a computer screen may not be who you think they are .... Interesting concept ... that's what drew me to this one to begin with. I liked the characters. I really got involved and found myself whispering advice to Mallory as I was reading. Not being a techie myself, it was enjoyable watching how they manipulated the internet. Plenty of suspense to satisfy anyone who likes to feel edgy while reading. My sincere thanks to the author, Laura Tisdall, who furnished a digital copy for an honest, unbiased review.

An exciting read with a very emotional tinge. . The writers story is around how a young girl, who struggles with society and the issues its poses, comes alive when she can hide behind a computer screen and hack into systems for the Forum and their leader The Asker. When members of the forum start going missing our heroine is drawn into her worst nightmare as she has to meet with the last member of the forum who hasn't disappeared and solve the mystery. The beauty of this novel is it will touch a chord with whoever reads it as it will make you think about your own life and where you feel must comfortable. Your inner self will admire the heroine and how much she has to fight to overcome her fears, giving you a bit of strength to conquer yours. The twists, turns and the air of mystery throughout the story makes for an interesting read.

Mallory lives a double life. In the real world she is a 16 year old girl that has a sever phobia of being touched, tries to be unnoticed, and takes care of her Marine father suffering from PTSD and her little brother. At night she becomes Echo Six, a hacker that becomes part of the Forum. When another hacker disappears this is brought to her attention. She starts working together with Warden to try and figure out what is going on. But the more she looks into the disappearance the more she stands out on the radar and will be fighting for more than just her hacker life. This is a great story. Mallory just loves being a hacker but she emerges to run her real life just enough to take care of her father and brother then goes back into the internet. I really liked how she is made real with her phobia of being touched. And enticing her with the mystery of hackers disappearing, I loved it! I also liked how Echo Six and The Warden worked so well together. DO I see romance in the future? This is a great thriller, mystery. There is a rough real world and even rougher virtual world. There is a great story and you are left wanting more. I can’t wait to read more of Laura Tisdall’s stories. I received Echoes for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I read and review a lot of books and sometimes right after finishing one I think I shouldn't have given one of the previous books a high rating because this current book is ten times better. This is the case for this book. I have given out a lot of reviews lately that might have been too generous after reading this one which was sooooo great! This is a well written smart book full of suspense that will keep you reading! The plot is fast paced with solid writing and a well crafted backdrop. I loved all the high tech hacking aspects. The characters are some of my favorite characters I have read in a while. They all have distinct characteristics that I found realistic and likable. Mallory is going on my top ten favorite fiction female characters list because she is strong, smart, family oriented, and level headed!! I honestly believe this book will capture all readers with any favorite genre already set. GO GET A COPY NOW!!
