The proposal looks like it fills a gap in the market. The banking MSc courses in economics departments generally end up using textbooks designed for a business/management audience. This is quite unsatisfactory. The proposed book is very interesting and I would look forward to reviewing a more developed version of it ... I can imagine it serving as a core text on my Financial Intermediation module and as a useful reference for the Money and Banking module. We also have a Risk Management module for which it may be a good reference ... Freixas and Rochet has always been too concise for an MSc audience and requires the use of other texts for intuition and results. The situation of this proposed text – between the rigour of Freixas and Rochet and the accessibility of other texts such as Greenbaum and Thakor – is a very good one.' - Alex Trew, University of St Andrews, UK...
The combined coverage of both banking and risk management indeed is novel.' - Jan Marc Berk, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, The Netherlands
'We have searched for years without finding a book that is at the right level for master students and broad enough for being a main text. F&R are famous, Keiding may need more marketing ... Relative to F&R we expect Keiding's book to be better organized, more balanced in coverage. Keiding will have more on topics relevant for coming bankers (risk management), F&R more for researchers ... Recommend publication: Yes, Adoption: We would probably try it out one semester.' - Asbjørn Rødseth and Jon Vislie, University of Oslo, Norway
