Edge of Darkness I enjoyed reading Edge of Darkness. I found the characters engaging and the storyline was well written. September Jones, Ember as she is better known has seen a lot in her twenty four years and bares the scars as a reminder of the guilt she carries with her every day. Christian McLoughlin is charming and charismatic, his look are what you expect to see on a runway or in GQ magazine. Sometimes though looks can be deceiving and in Christians case there is so much more than meets the eye. A chance encounter could change Christians' path forever and endanger the very world and people he will die to protect. Christian will need to work quickly if he is to protect his people and those he loves from the man that will gladly see them all perish by his hand. If you haven't read the Night Prowler series yet do yourself a favour and add it to you reading list. The reading order for this series is: Shadows Edge Edge of Oblivion Rapture’s Edge Edge of Darkness

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle: *eARC received via the Publisher from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review J.T never fails to captivate with her Night Prowler novels, and from the very start of this installment she had me saying 'wow' once again. Edge of Darkness is a delightful mix of intrigue, action, drama and romance with a decidedly Dan Brown antagonist feel, it was a wonderful read. Edge of Darkness's hero is Leander's younger brother, Christian, who has willingly offered himself up for a suicide missing to keep the Clan's secrets and defeat their nemesis.  Our heroine is just like us... a plainly beautiful woman who doesn't believe she's pretty and hides behind baggy clothes and books.   Their interactions are not at all easy and fluffy. There is tension galore, and the secrets that each of them are keeping just adds to the intrigue.  This installment of the series focuses a lot more on the Ikati in their human lives, and therefore is a bit different than the other books thus far. It's a little slower, but steady in its grip.  Fans of both J.T Geissinger and Dan Brown will certainly see some influence in this book with both the very beginning and the other villain that the couple must overcome. I've read some low rated reviews because of this, but there are very few books out there that don't have similarities, and if you like both of these authors as much as I do, why not just enjoy the ride!?  I gave the book an easy 4 skulls and still highly recommend this series!

This is certainly a book that gets a person emotionally invested.  The storyline was exciting and well-paced.  There was always something going on, whether it was something big or small.  I like that it centered mostly on the couple rather than being largely split with the villain.  There was still some time with the villain’s POV, but after reading about the bestiality and necrophilia, I started skipping those passages. As for the characters, I thought Ember was great, but had a lot to work through.  Christian was just swoon-worthy and I might have liked him better than his brother from book one.  Together, they’re incredibly sweet, and maybe a little dysfunctional, but that makes them all the more endearing.  I loved Asher and wished there’d been more of him.  I enjoyed the other supporting characters as well.  It was overall a great “cast” so to speak. I will say that I honestly couldn’t tell how much time had passed between this book and the last.  While this one could reasonably stand alone, it’d be much better in order, and I’m looking forward to the next one. Edge of Darkness is a sizzling read that will make you laugh and bring you to tears over the course of it.  It was an all-around awesome book.

I really enjoyed this book.  I was rather annoyed when I had to put it down to do other things, like cook and run errands.  This is actually the 4th book in the series, and I happily grabbed the 1st and 2nd book to read this week.  I suggest you give this author a try...you will not be disappointed.

Love this series!!! Ember Jones is a young woman surviving after a tragic accident that took the lives of her mother and brother. Christian McLoughlin is an Ikati, able to shift forms. They meet at Ember’s book store and she knows from the start that he’s dangerous. They both try to guard their hearts, not wanting the pain of heartache. What happens when they finally embrace their feelings? Will they survive the mission Christian’s on? This series keeps getting better. I loved Ember and Christian. Ember was struggling to put the accident behind her and get on with her life. I was heartbroken that she blamed herself for the accident. I loved that Ember loves cats and Christian turns into a panther. It was hilarious when she was dressed in the cat costume. I was very happy with the ending of the book. I love how there is a conclusion, but the story continues. I can’t wait to read more of this series.

Simply could not put this one down. Geissinger has done it again.  There are so many things I love about this series: the characters, the world-traveling ambiance, the heat, the oh-so-gray nature of the good guys, and the utter black of the bad. Did I mention the heat? This has the feel of being the shapeshifter equivalent of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. One thing I like better here is how the bad guys are clear and evil and absolutely critical to the plot but they never take up so much space that I'm tempted to skim the parts in their POV. Geissinger gives us just enough to work story magic and then gets them out of the way to let the story focus on the romance. (It's paranormal romance 1st and urban fantasy 2nd folks.) In this story, I particularly loved how the author doesn't shy away from Ember's mental health issues. The mind is a very powerful thing, for good or bad. Thanks for giving Ember's pain a very genuine feel, a knowing that it takes time to heal, and a hero that loves her anyway. If you love well-written paranormal romance, you won't want to miss these.

In darkness there is love... This is the fourth book in the Night Prowler series. The Ikati, a race of feline shape shifters are now being hunted as the actions of one of them has brought their existence to the attention of humans, he has very publicly drawn their blood and started a war. But not all Ikati feel the same way about the human race as this rogue does so the Ikati have joined the hunt for their own. September Jones, Ember, was the lone survivor of a tragedy six years ago that left her with physical scars and survivor's guilt. She hides from the world not drawing attention to herself. She lives in Barcelona, Spain, far from where she grew up in the United States. The part of her that enjoys life died the day of the tragedy and her mind in order to protect itself has distorted events of the past. She lives in this bubble that slowly cracks open when she meets this beautiful enigmatic stranger who unbeknownst to her is an Ikati. Christian McLoughlin, an Ikati, brother of the leader of his pack is on a mission in Spain following a lead to track down the murderous traitor before he can do more harm to humans. He has taken on the role of assassin to protect his people and does not expect to survive the mission. Things change when Ember and Christian meet, the pull between them is undeniable and everything is put at risk when they become involved and she learns the truth of what he is. This story is well written and engaging. The chemistry between the two main characters is palpable. Ember though broken is a strong woman, she is the mate Christian has always been looking for and she changes everything in regards to his mission, he now wants to survive but the timing of their finding each other could be disastrous for both of them and the Ikati race. There are many secrets and subplots in play that heighten the suspense. I love this reality that J.T. Geissinger has created, it is unique among the paranormal stories out there and I look forward to each new book. This one did not disappoint. ARC provided by the author.

What a seriously dark and beautiful story of love and acceptance. Ember is busy just trying to get through each day running her book store and trying to deal with her past. She blames herself for a terrible accident 6 years ago. One day a beautiful stranger walks through the door and her world will never be the same. Christian is absolutely beautiful but there is something else Ember feels about this gorgeous specimen of a man and its danger. She doesn't know why but she is drawn to him like no other. He is interested in buying a book from Ember and while she needs the sale to help keep the store afloat she just can't manage to be nice to Christian. Knowing there is something about him she doesn't trust. Christian doesn't know what to think about Ember and her sharp wit. But knowing what and who he is he knows one thing for sure....he needs to stay away from Ember. Through a series of events they both find themselves drawn together and each with huge secrets that neither are willing to share at least at first. Christian brings Ember into his dangerous world and has to protect her to keep her safe from the danger of what is. The author has done a fantastic job of creating a story filled with mystery...suspense and a love that will survive even when it shouldn't. The cast of supporting characters are very important to the journey Christian and Ember find themselves taking. This is the first I have read of J.T. Geissinger and am completely hooked. The world and characters created along with a fantastic storyline has made for me at least a fantastic book! I was given an ARC to read for an honest review and believe me when I say this...I loved this book! I will be keeping up with this authors work! Highly recommend!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. The blurb as nice as it is does not do the book justice. I was expecting a good book, but what I read was fantastic. I think it had it all: mystery, suspense, romance, action, a wild adventure all mixed with a touch of humor. I got to say I loved her BFF, a gay ex-marine with guard dog tendencies and too funny but true three categories for males. Oh and don’t get me started on Mr. Bedroom Eyes Assassin with all his yummy alpha-ness. This is the fourth book in the series, but does standalone fantastically. I have not read the first three in the series, yet. There was a blend of backstory along with current events, without being tedious with a large info dump. The flow was good, and the characters were developed well. I can’t recommend this book enough. Get it, and enjoy!
