Edward was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1946, moved to Park Avenue as his father's fortunes improved, became an active artist in the late 1960s, nurtured a thriving career through the interventions that re-configured various buildings owned by his father via tactics that would only later come to be manifested in works by Kapoor and Eliasson, inherited his father's Downtown property in the mid-1970s, and came to create the largest work of art known to man following his retreat from the gallery scene in 1978. Edward Poe, however, does not unfold strictly from Edward's perspective and is not overly focused on his character. Instead, Edward Poe is defined by uncovering the logic of the world in which Edward operates in order to define the broadest picture one might come to hold of a territory and the parameters that allow one to negotiate a realm that defines the line between fact and fiction in order to ultimately understand the limits of human vision.
