Each book examines the invention or development within its historical context. The texts are accessible, but Kjelle's discussion of the MRI machine may challenge some readers. Students will find William Hewlett's story especially inspiring. His treatment of his employees could be a model for businesses today. The captioned black-and-white photographs are of average quality.
