Contains a lot of good information and the first chapters are great. However later in the book the author¿s will abruptly end one topic and start another without warning. Also the downloaded code ceases to match what is in the book. Some of the downloaded files, even if copied completely to a local folder don¿t function.

I have been a professional software developer for several years. During this time I have amassed quite a collection of books in an attempt to learn the in's and out's of various technologies. This book delivers what many lack, clear and concise communication of the relevant concepts. 'Effective Visual Studio .NET' is well organized and can be read strait through or used as a reference. If you are interested in developing on the .NET platform this book should be your first purchase!
