About the Author

Rachel Blaufeld is a social worker/entrepreneur/blogger turned author. Fearless about sharing her opinion, Rachel captured the ear of stay-at-home and working moms on her blog, BacknGrooveMom, chronicling her adventures in parenting tweens and inventing a product, often at the same time. She has also blogged for The Huffington Post, Modern Mom, and StartupNation.

Turning her focus on her sometimes wild-and-crazy creative side, it only took Rachel two decades to do exactly what she wanted to do-write a fiction novel. Now she spends way too many hours in local coffee shops plotting her ideas. Her tales may all come with a side of angst and naughtiness, but end lusciously.

Rachel lives around the corner from her childhood home in Pennsylvania with her family and two dogs. Her obsessions include running, coffee, icing-filled doughnuts, antiheroes, and mighty fine epilogues.

Electrified by Rachel Blaufeld is a debut novel and the first in her Electric Tunnel series. A beautiful novel that I could NOT put down. My criticisms are that it was sometimes hard to read as so much of the story was told in the characters head and it's something I'm not used to reading. There was also a little repetition of the main characters back story that wasn't necessary. I criticize only because it made it take longer to devour this novel. The story of Sienna and Carson is fabulous. The stripper and the private detective and the plot twists were just really, really good. Even though it was very internalized in the characters minds it was a story that pulled me along making me desire to know the secrets each was hiding and to find out exactly what happens next. I will definitely be reading more from this author, namely Asher's story when it comes out.

There were things I liked and disliked about this story. It has so much potential to be a fantastic, 5 star read for me but it was still a good read. I enjoyed the storyline but there were times the pace of this story felt so slow and it was a bit repetitive. I enjoyed Sienna, Asher, Carson, Staci, Nat and the rest of that gang but this story also have characters that you will hate. The story deals with domestic violence, emotional and sexual abuse and has a bit of mystery and suspense to it. However, it also has it moments that are sweet, steamy, sexual and full of males in protective mode. The ending was good but I do wish there was an epilogue with the newest addition. I would have loved a true family moment. I will read the next book in this series to get Asher's story.
