Author Martha Gilstrap's debut novel is full of beautiful imagery that captivates the imagination. What I love most is the richness of details she brings to her stories. Her characters are well-developed and fleshed out. Her background in Rhu Te Karate brings believability and detail to her action scenes. Elegy: The Black Diamond follows the journey of Shay Bladen as he searches for the origin of a mysterious axe. If you like rich details, well-developed characters, and interesting alternate worlds, Martha Gilstrap is an author to watch. And Elegy is a terrific debut novel.
