“Masterful, gripping writing! Would make a thrilling movie!”
–Betty Dravis, Award-winning author and journalist

“You just want to don a badge and gun and delve in there yourself… The characters are real, honest, and gritty, and the ‘baddies’ get under your skin...”
–The Kindle Book Review

“Must devour… As the story unraveled and clues unfolded, I felt like I was participating in the hunt as much as the agents in the story. And let me tell you, never did I see that ending coming…”
–Consuming Words

Eleven Rooms. Ten Bodies. One Empty Grave.

When Brandon Fisher joined the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit, he knew he’d come up against psychopaths, sociopaths, pathological liars, and more. But when his first case takes him and the team to Salt Lick, Kentucky, to hunt down a ritualistic serial killer, he learns what nightmares are truly made of.

Beneath a residential property, local law enforcement discovered an underground bunker with circular graves that house the remains of ten victims. But that’s not all: there’s an empty eleventh grave, just waiting for a corpse. The killing clearly hasn’t come to an end yet, and with the property owner already behind bars, Brandon is certain there’s an apprentice who roams free.

As the FBI follows the evidence across the United States, Brandon starts to struggle with the deranged nature of his job description. And if the case itself isn’t going to be enough to push Brandon over the edge, he’s working in the shadow of Supervisory Special Agent Jack Harper, who expects nothing short of perfection from his team. To make matters even worse, it seems Brandon has become the target of a psychotic serial killer who wants to make him—or his wife—victim number eleven.

It would seem that this author has no understanding of the inner workings of the real FBI. Nor does the author appear to have actually consulted with real FBI Agents. Just did not do the proper research to make the characters more believable. Otherwise it would have been a great read.

I really liked this book. The author does a good job in getting you hooked early on and then keeping your attention through every page. The book is mostly written through the perspective of the main character, with a few chapters here and there from other view points. These different view points are nice because they fill in little bits of the story and keep you wondering who the next person is to die and who is going to do it. The author does a good job of not solving the mystery till the very end and even then the book ends with action. If the rest of her books are like this I will continue to read them.

Excellent writing and characters. I do not think Brandon would have passed the psych eval at the academy. Too hot headed and impulsive. The obsession with cigarettes became very distracting and annoying after awhile. I hope this theme does not carry into her other books. Overall I enjoyed the story and the characters. Very suspenceful.

She made the FBI look like characters from 24. They do not operate the way she portrays them.

3 1/2 stars. Not as bad as some reviewers made it to be. More a man's book. 315 pages. Free. Free standing. Part of a series. Some rough langauge and quite a bit of violence. For adults. The reviewer who compared this book to Criminal Minds was correct. Overall, it was an entertaining read. It would have been nice to know a little bit more about the characters. They seemed a little flat. AD

I really enjoyed this book, I had a hard time putting it down. When I reached the last fifty pages, I had to finish it.

main character seems somewhat immature + tempramental at first - doubt he would have made it through the FBI Academy!! Also, cannot get past rookie mistake at end that 2 characters debate over, knowing they were in the wrong. That was just stupid, + it ruined the end of the book for me. Still, I recommend this book if you can look past a few flaws. D from C

Really enjoyed this

Good premise, engaging characters. But missing commas forced me to reread sentences to get the meaning and paragraph indentation needs to be more than one space for readability.

I liked the book fine but about 3/4 through, started experiencing blank pages and could not move forward without jumping ahead 2 or 3 pages so although I got the jest of who dunnit, didn't get to read the final chapter or epilog. Very disappointing!

This is comparable to Silence of the Lambs. Very well written with unimagined twists and turns that kept your interest and motivated you not to put the book down.

ELEVEN was a crime thriller about a very intelligent and well organized criminal with a very twisted mind. I look forward to reading the next book in this crime series. Jazz Dee

This is a thriller that will have you biting your nails! Carolyn Arnold does it again--twists, turns and even a couple of chuckles as Brandon Fisher tries to learn to live with his nickname by the cigarette smoking Special Agent and his boss, Jack Harper. They find 10 graves and Brandon is sure that either he or his wife are slated for the Eleventh by the REALLY messed up killers. So, who is calling the shots here? It will take ingenuity and a whole lot of luck to get to the bottom of all this. When they finally do--nope not going to tell you--who is the Eleventh victim and why and who is this mad, psychotic killer?

Brandon Fisher is a raw new agent on his first case out of the Academy. This first case is a doozy with a murderous narcissist as the mastermind behind 20 murders leaving the reader confused and needing more at all points a cannot put down book I troducing us to the concept of the coinherence symbol. Exciting read. Barbara Cosenza
