A fantastic, tear-wrenching fantasy that had my attention all the way. I couldn't put it down and I stayed awake into the morning until I couldn't see anymore. Elise is a strong and empathic, she embodies hard-working middle-class young women. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Rachel Stiber's debut novel, Elise's Choice, has shown Stiber to be a fine storyteller. The tale flows quickly with page-turning finesse. Stiber and her character Elise are delightful weavers of stories, and I was caught quickly in the threads of their tapestries. The love story of Elise (Bunny Face) and Anton (her incredible friend) was tender and tragic and heartwarming. Thus, many tears were shed as they shared their destinies. . . together. Petheralm Village came to life with its charming, simple beauty and its array of colorful characters. I cheered for Anton. I loathed Ludiford (prince or king)! And I really would like to have Greta as a friend. Stiber certainly created memorable, life-like characters. Is there a sequel to Elise's Choice? I wonder about the untold adventures of Celeste and Lark. Will Celeste wield her father's dagger? Certainly, Stiber has set the stage for the tales to come! If you like adventure, legends, true love, and enchanted forests, you will enjoy this young adult tale.

Rachel Stiber, author of “Elise’s Choice,” creates a riveting tale of strength, power, and love. The reader is transported to a distant land of peasants, healers, and royalty. Petheralm is a charming, close-knit village of peasants that care for their own. The Enchanted Forest, which surrounds Petheralm, protects the village from unwelcome guests; that is until a handsome, charismatic stranger is injured in the woods and quickly instills himself into the villagers’ lives. Anton and Elise grew up together and have been best friends all their lives. Emerging into adulthood, they have to consider where their true feelings lie. As the story unfolds, the reader is captivated by the characters’ lives and circumstances. How will Elise decide which direction her life should take? How will she ever know which choice is the right choice? Is she choosing the path that leads to her true fate? The emotions stirred by the brilliant quality of “Elise’s Choice” are so overwhelming and authentic that I felt like I was personally involved with the characters. I was genuinely concerned with the choice Elise was required to make and how the outcome would affect her life and others around her. The excellent depiction and style of the story carried me throughout the lands; I could visualize the world in which Elise lived. I can see the characters, feel their longings, and loved getting to know them all. Upon finishing the novel, I was literally left begging for more, demanding a sequel to continue my connection with “Elise’s Choice.” This is a novel I will recommend to my students, friends, anyone looking for a fantastic read!
