Things are going just swimmingly for EllRay. He's finally getting along with most of the kids at school. He's even getting along with his family. But then everything comes screeching to a halt when his younger sister accidently overfeeds the classroom goldfish EllRay was supposed to be taking care of over Spring vacation. What is EllRay going to tell his teacher and the kids in his third-grade class? Fortunately, most of them are sympathetic. But not bossy Cynthia. She sees this as an opportunity to blame EllRay for her own mess-ups. Must EllRay now walk the plank for stuff that he didn't do?

Review title: Spring Break Surprises. The adventures of an eight year-old third grader are told with clarity and will make young readers "feel" as though they are actually in the story of "EllRay Jakes Walks the Plank." If you are interested in finding out what happens during Spring Break with Mr. Jakes this is the storyline that will reveal it to you. Also, if you want to find out how EllRay handles a bossy, bullying classmate this is the tale to read. What plank does EllRay need to walk? **Great for third and fourth graders for silent sustained reading time. **This tale has an interesting and engaging storyline that most young students will probably be able to relate to and find some of the tale to be just like real life.
