About the Author

Award-winning author Regina Scott started writing novels in the third grade. Thankfully for literature as we know it, she didn’t actually sell her first novel until she had learned a bit more about writing. Since her first Regency romance was published in 1998, her stories have traveled the globe, with translations in many languages including Dutch, German, Italian, and Portuguese. She and her husband of more than 25 years reside in Washington State with their overactive Irish terrier. Regina Scott is a decent fencer; owns a historical costume collection that takes up over a third of her large closet; and is an active member of the Church of the Nazarene. You can find her online blogging at www.nineteenteen.com. Learn more about her at www.reginascott.com and connect with her on Facebook at www.facebook.com/authorreginascott.

Best in the Series Yet! I absolutely love that Ariadne finally gets her own book! Her journal’s constant presence and her literary mind made me love her from the first novel in this series and having her front and center in this story, with just a dash of Regency intrigue, makes it my favorite of the series. Reading about characters who either love to read or to write is something that I find irresistible. Maybe it started with Austen’s Northanger Abbey, or perhaps it is the near-breach of the boundaries between reality and fiction, but I really engage with these types of stories. I enjoy tracking with the fictional characters and learning something about my own obsession with the written word in the process. There is something a little bit more in the romance as well—more heart-pounding action and a taste of danger infused directly into the relationship; more kisses to curl the toes, too. And I adore that our heroine is imperfect even as the hero loves her, imperfections and all. She doesn’t have to change to earn his love; she only needs to be herself. Now then, as I’ve binge-read this series, it’s time to pick up book five and find out the rest of the story. Though I must admit, it will be hard to say goodbye to these characters I have so thoroughly enjoyed reading about and watching grow and change through the past four books. For anyone who is considering this series: I highly recommend it, but make sure you start at the beginning to get the full effect and maximum enjoyment! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for this honest review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

Regina Scott has penned another entertaining tale in The Lady Emily Capers! Ariadne Courdebas is quite a character and I thoroughly enjoyed her pairing with Agent Sinclair. Secrets, scandals, and spies! Oh my! I delighted in Eloquence and Espionage and look forward to future escapades as this series continues. Eloquence and Espionage was such a wonderful romp through Regency England. The continuation of the Lady Emily Capers, this story was just so fun. I really enjoyed trying to figure out who the villain was! The author did a good job of keeping me guessing right to the end. I really liked the two main characters and the situation they ended up in together. Ariadne was her usual intelligent self, yet the reader was allowed to see into her thoughts in this story and that was truly enchanting. Jason Sinclair was a great hero. He was brave and smart, yet had a lot of self-doubt and things from the past that haunted him. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series and seeing how all the various stories from the previous books continue to come together. This is a sweet and clean romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
