Elsa is the novel of the children of the first pilgrims emigrating to the land of Poland. (See East Wind, Book One.) The early hard times are now over, and life is getting better. However, other problems and opportunities evolve. One older and still single girl is apparently kidnapped. The men from that hamlet have to tend to their farms and cattle and do not have time to go searching for her. A disgraced Catholic priest, called Father Franz, is ordered by the community to go in search for her. What will the consequences be?
