Elsie Clarke is afraid of haircuts. Her dad suggests she try his hairdresser because he’s different. A curious Elsie takes her dad’s advice and pays Boris Lazzario, the vampire hairdresser, a visit. All seems to be going well until Boris’s angry father turns up, but it just so happens that Count Lazzario is also scared of haircuts. Now Elsie has someone to share the experience with, and she and Count Lazzario pluck up the courage to let Boris loose on their hair – which results in two very dashing haircuts! This story is incredibly sweet. It’s such good fun. I loved the bond between Elsie and Boris as they helped each other out. I particularly enjoyed the textured backgrounds of the spreads, which contrast well with the bold, vivid colours used for the illustrations. You can see example of this in the book trailer below. The whole presentation of the book is such high quality and a wonderful addition to any bookcase.
