This is book 2 in a series but is an excellent stand alone romance. Jenna is excited because this is her senior year in high school. She is on the prom committee and is anxiously awaiting prom with her best friend Hannah and her boyfriend Drake. When Jenna gets to school, she feels a bit funny. On the way to run an errand for a teacher, Hannah and Jenna stop off for a bathroom break. Jenna gets sick again and passes out. When she wakes up, she finds it to be January 16, just a few days later than when she passed out. She has no idea that 11 years have passed since she fell ill. She has to leave behind everything she knew to be true and adjust to her new life. I would highly recommend to all romance lovers.

Embracing Life is a genuinely good story that makes you think and experience a variety of emotions. There is no bad guy, just people making tough choices and doing the best that they can. I appreciated how the characters talked things out. The reader is not left wondering why the characters made the choices that they did. I loved how faith was naturally woven into the story. There is a very satisfying HEA. The only negative was that in a few short sections of the book, I felt like I was being told rather than shown. The majority of the book though is well written, and I would definitely read more of Ann Laurel’s work. I received a copy of this book from the author. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
