What better activity for a rainy day in summer than to tell each other funny stories? Like the one about the Emperor’s New Nose. The owners of the nose store make fun of the silly Emperor’s ordinary nose and sell him a series of noses, a big nose, a thin nose, a fat nose. Overview

What better activity for a rainy day in summer than to tell each other funny stories? Like the one about the Emperor’s New Nose. The owners of the nose store make fun of the silly Emperor’s ordinary nose and sell him a series of noses, a big nose, a thin nose, a fat nose. Meanwhile, the problems of the empire are just getting worse.

Or maybe you haven’t heard the story of Rapunzel and the Wicked Hairdresser. Forced to work as a servant in a beauty parlor, Rapunzel has an awful time getting together with a prince.

And then there’s the classic story of Pinokeydokey, the puppet who comes to life, grows donkey ears, and tells lies. It may sound familiar, but Gladys’s version is one you’ve never heard before.

This charming Read-to-Me book will delight young readers. They’ll laugh out loud to hear their favorite fairy stories transformed into humorous and whimsical tall tales that offer nourishing food for the imagination. These stories make perfect bedtime reading for kids 5-9.

There are several stories in this book....I was reading this to my granddaughter last night, and she kept wanting more. Then when we finished, she wanted Luke's book "Ella Cinders" instead of going to sleep. An enjoyable retelling of known fairy tales from an approach that ties them all together with the storytellers in the book. Much like the way I read stories to my 3rd child, after I'd read them all to the other two--you have to add some creativity, and Luke did so well here. A good, enjoyable read, and I recommend it.

Was listed under "read to me" books & is not. There are no pictures in this story. Cute stories- not separated from each other.
