** Katie Chandler, a small town Texas girl, is working as an assistant for a monster of a boss while questioning the odd things she encounters in NYC. She soon finds herself being sought after for a position with MSI Inc, a magical company headed by the legendary Merlin. She learns that she has no magic abilities at all but that her lack of magical powers is actually what sets her apart and makes her an important asset to the company and to the fate of the magical battles about to come. With the help of the powerful and gorgeous wizard Owen, Katie finds herself thrown in the middle of the fight between good against evil. ** I absolutely LOVE the Enchanted, Inc. series. I can't get enough of the characters and their adventures. The world of magic portrayed in these books is cute and the characters are very lovable. Katie, our heroine, is incredibly likable and unique in that her "superpower" is that she has no magical powers at all. The romance in this series grows as you go along and isn't just thrown together at the beginning. And any woman who reads these books will fall in love with Owen while at the same time, rooting for him and Katie to find each other. Most people who read Enchanted Inc have trouble putting it down and finish within hours of starting, then immediately go out and buy the next three books in the series. (I ordered mine before I was halfway through the first book.) And I think you'll enjoy all of the adventure, humor and romance this series has to offer. This book is full of magic, wizards, fairies, elves, and villains. You'll love it. Definitely recommend!!! *** The author stated before that she would have liked to wrap up the series with a 5th book. Her publisher however, has no intentions of releasing a 5th. This is perfect low-stress, light and breezy reading! Likable characters, entertaining plot. Some romance, but nothing that grates for us non-chicklit types. Loved it!

The premise of a nonmagical person working as Merlin's assistant is engaging. The character and her dating problems and fight against the dark side is well done.

For any young woman who has ever felt that she isn't making it in the "real world", this is a page-turning novel that has you sympathizing and cheering for the heroine from the first chapter to the last. It isn't hard, classic fiction, but it is a real, delightful story about someone who finds themselves in over their head, and deals with it the way strong women always do. It is a fantasy, with magic and wizards, but the emotions in it are so true to life that you understand where the main character is coming from, even if you will never have a conversation with a gargoyle.

Such a fun book.  It was easy to read with some really funny moments and good one-liners.  It's something I wouldn't hesitate to lend to my 12-year-old niece.  I do want to read the rest of the series now!

This book is perfectly titled for it is enchanting. This is a fun and light read. As a native New Yorker I loved the descriptions of this great city. The author mixes reality and magic wonderfully well. I have already bought the next book in the series.

Good series, however Swendson leaves it unfinished and will not write the 8th book. Per the author the story is "pretty much closed out in my head". Be warned, you'll read 7 great books and the author leaves you hanging. You'll just have to make up your own ending because Swendson's moved on without completing this series.

I found this an interesting and amusing book, with a refreshingly new concept. It's lightweight entertainment, not any great good versus evil saga, although there are good guys and and bad guys. The heroine is on the good side, of course. Other reviewers have described the plot, so I won't go into that. Part way through the book I got rather fed up with the heroine's "Oh, gosh" air, as in "I'm just a simple farm girl from Texas, but I'm teaching the great Merlin how to market his spells." I did finish reading though, and the story was worth it. Will I read the next book in the series? I don' t know yet. Overall I give the book 4 stars for the ingenious idea of non-magical people who can see through spells, and for being a relaxing, amusing read.

This is a fun introduction to a world of magic mixed with everyday problems like love, paying the rent and having an ogre for a boss. The entire series is well worth reading. Not too intense or graphic, but good entertaining reads: well worth your time.

I've enjoyed all of the books in this series, and this one did not disappoint.  This series has had me cracking up and bummed that it ended.  Okay for teens too.

It wasn't the typical book about magic casters. This book is about a young woman who hates her job because her boss talks down to her. Strange things start happening but she just desides New Yorkers are so used to it that that don't notice anything weird going on. She has been seeing a gargoyle on a chuch on her way home from work, the weird thing is the stone gargoyle isn't always there. She's heading to the subway on her way to work not looking forward to another day at the office. She gets to the subway when she spots a man talking into his watch acting like he was summoning the train and the train shows up early. When on the train a man sits next to her who thinks he's all that and all the girls are drooling over him. All she sees is a greasy haid guy who needs a haircut and and tought how to make his skin look better. He's also kind of a jerk. Also on the subway is a fairy with wings hovering over her set. The problem is no one but her had noticed somethings wrong. She keeps getting a job offer and doesn't consider it until her boss upsets her so bad she quits. She finds out that shes special because she is ordinary she has not even a trace of magic in her. Thats what the new job needs someone like her.

Really great book! Ms. Swendson certainly knows how to draw you into a (really good) story. She has a keen sense of human nature and coveys it well. The series (am on the fifth book of the series) is very entertaining. She has the (dare I say "magical"?) ability to keep one's feet firmly planted on the ground and head in the clouds! Overall, a great storyline from a great storyteller.
