Lost in the dark forest, the little girl meets a fairy queen. The fairy bestows an enchantment that makes all animals accept the child as one of their own. A wolf pack protects the girl and helps the fairy lead her home. Later, the girl's mother meets the fairies, and they allow her to draw their pictures. And that is how the first fairy pictures entered the world.

About the Author

Dorothy Metz Littlefield has been writing for over forty years. Her first story, When Time Stood Still, was published in magazines and in a short-stories anthology.
A child at heart, Dorothy decided to write a middle-grade children's adventure novel that also contained accurate details about wildlife and numerous examples of good morals. Journey into the Land of the Wingless Giants was the result of limitless imagination and extensive research on plants and wildlife.
Dorothy wrote numerous short stories with her daughter, S.L. Menear, that were published in an anthology titled Life, Love, & Laughter: 50 Short Stories. She is currently writing mystery and romance novels.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she moved to Diamond Lake, Michigan after marrying her husband, Ken. They raised their two children, Sharon and Larry, in Michigan and later in Bradenton, Florida.
Dorothy was a long-time resident of Kilgore, Texas, where she raised horses on her ranch until she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2002 to be near her children.
