Encounter with the Aberdeen Wildman could use a thorough edit. That said, this is an important book and deserves to be thoughtfully read. Mr. Bennett spent years reading and studying the Bible, and everything he says in his own book, is based on what he has deduced from his studies. Every one of his assertions are based on what he understands the Bible to mean. As a teenager, Mr. Bennett was hiking through the woods near where he and his family lived in New Jersey. At that time he was extremely upset over the way he had been treated at school. Perhaps it was no accident that while in those woods, he saw what might have been a Sasquatch, or a large ape sort of creature with a very human-like face. He wondered if it were a space alien of some sort, as even though it was very large, larger than any man he had ever known, it was able to disappear among the trees without leaving a trace. He talked about his encounter with many people, trying to find some answers t what he had seen. He discovered that while so many people had heard stories about a creature living in those woods that it had a name, no one he met had ever seen it. How could this huge creature be so elusive as to be able to dwell in that patch of woodland without leaving a trace, except for an occasional footprint? Apparently no one knew anything about it, and no one had ever discovered its lair. Still, the legends exist and go back for many years. Learning what this creature was became an obsession with Mr. Bennett. He studied every account he could find of such sightings, and came to conclusions based on the one book he trusts above all others; the Holy Bible. He asks some interesting questions about what spirits and ghosts really are, and what is meant by spiritual oppression. You might not agree with everything he has to say, but this book will make you think and that is what the best books do. His assertion that evil spirits can oppress members of the same family from one generation to the next, and that instances of mental illness may be a manifestation of an evil spirit within a family’s soul deserves consideration, apart from melodramatic horror movies such as The Exorcist. Truly, if Mr. Bennett’s book makes you think and ask questions of your own, it is worth reading.

Upon beginning this book, I was intrigued simply by the stories within. The Dover Demon, The Mothman, Yeti, Unidentified Flying Objects, and of course Saquatch. These were all things I have been interested for my whole life. What I was not expecting was the depth at which the author goes to explain and connect all of these phenomena. Through his life experiences and research, he is able to create perspectives and string together ideas that I had never even imagined. His knowledge of the bible and ability to draw from many different resources is really impressive. At times I was wondering where the story was going, but it always came right back to where it started, and always with a good point. The storytelling isn't on par with the likes of the greats, but it is honest and frank. I was cringing at the awkward teenage moments, and smiling at the satisfying ones, Although sometimes it seems like the author isn't completely willing to share all of the details of his life (understandably so), so sometimes you feel a little left in the dark. All in all, the ideas presented in this book are some of the freshest I have come across in quite a while. Whether you are a Christian, a ghostbuster, or simply curious, this book may be worth the look!

This book will be of greatest interest to those who are not only interested in the paranormal but also in the Bible's explanations of these events. Bennet's command of the Bible seems to be extensive and his belief in it as a literally true body of work is pure.    Distracting for me were the many misspellings and awkward phrasing, areas of poor writing in general. I couldn't help but wonder what the editor and/or proofreader were smoking. Although Bennet's voice is positive, engaging and inviting, these errors detracted from my attempt to perceive him as a logical thinker.    On the positive side, I found the descriptions of the encounters he had with the paranormal to be absolutely engrossing. I felt as if I was right there with him.   Definitely the most difficult aspect of this book was Bennett's explanations of paranormal events. Most of the book concerns his attempts to do this, which I wasn't expecting by the title, but more important, I was disconcerted by his conclusions. He briefly states scientific explanations of these events and then confidently attempts to refute that with teachings from the Bible. I remained unconvinced and some readers may as well.

A Unique Way of Preceiving the Paranormal and The Unknown!! It was a time of cultural change and paranormal is on the rise with Satanism, witchcraft and Bigfoot sightings. Bennett lives near Big Gunpowder Falls in Baltimore County, Maryland. Growing up he encounters his own paranormal of the unknown and the “Aberdeen Wildman”. Here lies his story. Bennett creatively writes with a unique flair as if the reader is seeing the story through his eyes. What starts out as a coming of age story with paranormal sightings turns to the author’s own investigation into the unknown. As a Christian I loved the writer’s way of comparing God’s word to the supernatural, demons and the unknown giving us the readers a unique way of perceiving this subject. I like that Bennett is a serious writer but when needed he can be humorously entertaining. There is too much information within the pages to just read casually or lightly. A book that I know I will read over and over again as there is too much to learn in one reading. This is definitely one to read with the Bible in one hand and this book in the other as Bennett has a remarkable way of bring forth the truth. I highly recommend for anyone interested in paranormal and the unknown but equally for the Christian that have questions to ask for Bennett and God’s word have the answers!!
