I have been hooked on this series for a long time and have purchased most of the books written by the alleged "Lemony Snicket" because I was truly captivated by the writing and genuinely began to have an active interest in the Baudelaires. I know that in each book he says that the Baudelaire family will always experience tragic events and be unhappy, but I was really looking forward to this book to have an ultimately satisfying ending. Boy, was I wrong. No mysteries were clarified, unless you count the few extra new mysteries that were heaped onto the already confusing debacle. I really expected more out of the last book. You expect the end of a series to leave you satisfied. This book was definitely a disappointment--but I still love the books.

I finished the book...AND I LOVE IT!!!!!! I will tell wat happens...but if u dont wanna know, ten dont read anymore of my post......u could just skip to the very LAST paragraph....the second one is about what happens in the story...if u wanna know what happens...read this whole thing. So....this is what happens in the story. The Baudelaire Orphans(who are innocent little kids who are orpahns ...now that their parents died in a terrrrible fire that ruined their home and belongings. There was Violet who was 14. She liked to invent stuff that was useful. Then there was Klaus who was 13. He liked to read lots of books...he happens to remember mostlyy everything he reads. Then there is Sunny...shhe is a baby i guess...at the end of this series i think she is 1 or 2. She bites stuff with her sharp teeth.) start of in a boat with Count Olaf( a viillan that ruined their lives ) they soon arrive on an island with a ruler named Ishmeahl. He says he wont force anyone to do anything..but it seems that he does. Island ways arent gair for the islanders..or the Baudelairs. Because of that there is a schism. They all want to get rid of Ishmehl. Then..they see Kit ( a pregnate woman, friend of Baudelairs, a character from the last book, a kind woman, and a sister of Jaquez snicket.) Her baby is coming out! Soon it does...but Count Olaf spreads a posinouse fungus all over the island..islanders leave. Kit and Olaf die...but a sexond before Kit dies, she has her babies..before she died...the baudelairs promised they would take good care of her baby who was named afyer the mother of the Baudelairs. I loved this book! Get it!

In this final installment of the series of unfortunate events, we find Sunny, Claus, and Violet in the clutches of Count Olaf on a boat in the sea. Then they crash on an island that is cut off from the rest of the world, and find themselves in another unfortunate event in the horror book that is their lives. Violet is the oldest of the Bauldelaire orphans and the direct inheritant of the Bauldelaire fortune, she is the inventor of the group. Claus is the middle child, he gathers all the information he can from books, he is the reader of the group. Sunny is the youngest of the orphans, she doesnt talk alot, but when she does only Violet and Claus can understand her. Then there is Count Olaf, the maniacle villan whom is always chasing the orphans trying to get his oversized fingers on the fortune their parents left them. This is a very compelling book, if you havent read the series I highly recommend it.

The conclusion to Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events was a long due one, considering the 13 volumes it has taken to tell the tale of the Baudelaire orphans. Unfortunately, Snicket's latest book, THE END, does not effectively end the series. Albeit humorous, the book is far from satisfactory to fans who have read the Series asking questions regarding the appearing and disappearing of characters and their importance. Readers have asked what is VFD? The Sugar bowl? And what caused the great schism? Snicket has had much potential with his plot, but the end of THE END is disappointing and even more so unimaginative. Snicket leaves many mysteries and questions unanswered by abruptly ending the acclaimed series. Snicket says that 'we have indeed reached the last chapter of the Baudelaires' story, even if the Baudelaires had not' and concludes that their fate and all the answers to the Series are ¿better left unknown.' What a poor ending. I think the author just could not think of anything to wrap up his Series¿ incongruous plot line with its flippant plot twists, insignificant characters, and meaningless meandering of the principle characters. THE END leaves the reader unfulfilled for its lack of resolve and it is obvious that the Series of Unfortunate Events inevitably pointless existence was to compete with Harry Potter and other fantasy works and gain profit. Do not be fooled by the humor or developmental traits of key characters. The Series of Unfortunate Events is a waste of time and money. Do not read this book or any other in the series. You will be severely and unfortunately disappointed.

I hope not. What happened here?? Did someone bump-off Snicket before he wrote the end of The End? Please, this was such a sad and pathetic ending to a wonderful series. If I didn't love books so much, I would burn all the ones from this series
