An enjoyable read with some engaging characters, but it was a bit dated by its dealing with "collapsars" (black holes), plus I felt it was way too blasé in how it dealt with the many people who were killed in the story.

Judging from the title, maybe this was intended to be the last of the Flinx and Pip (his mini dragon) books. Flinx goes to Pip's homeworld, trying to find about his past from the mysterious Skua September, while trying to stay alive, somewhat Han Solo fashion, always avoiding the law and bounty hunters. Good sci fi in a Star Wars type setting.

Enjoyable for the reunion with Bran-Tse Mallory and Truzenzuzex, the archaeology setting, and the character of Ab (who fooled me on first time reading at age of 16!)
