I am currently reading this book, and while I agree he has many valid points; particularly with regard to the "Left Behind" series of books, his anti-Catholic, anti-non Protestant, views are typical of the mistaken characterizations made by Protestants about the Church. This is not to say that: 1.) The Church hasn't made errors; 2.) I necessarily agree with everything the Church says (as a Catholic). He seems to ignore the many variations of Protestant doctrines, except where they all are anti-Catholic. I was planning to read one of his other books, but now I'm not so sure. He is entitled to his interpretation of Scripture, but it is only his interpretation. I agree that no Pope, Patriarch, Preacher, including him/he, can dictate to anyone else how to live. I agree ultimately that only Faith and belief in the Son, as the only intermediary with the Father, can intercede for us, but there are many mistakes made, by all religions, Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and others; which is why (though I don't subscribe to this) some people reject religion and faith. Perhaps, if I interpret Mr. Wohlberg correctly, we should just read the Bible itself and interpret for ourselves; live by its precepts the best we can; and when and if there is a Judgment, confess our sins; seek forgiveness, and let the Most High judge us. We shall see.

This book tries to cover the history of the Christian doctrine of the end times. The author covers the material with a legalistic fundamental point of view. I stopped reading the book when he wrote that the ten commandments apply to Christians, and people who say that "Christians are not governed by divine law" are playing into the hands of the antichrist.

I am returning the book to Barnes and Noble. It is really that bad!

This is not a novel - it is real truth. Every point is backed up by scripture. We so easily accept what people tell us as truth without checking is out in the Bible. You can check out everything in this book because it all has biblical referrences. It's amazing!!
