This book right here had me riveted from start to finish. I read it all the way through! I laughed, cried, and felt my heart break with the characters. I do not want to spoil anything for a future reader but I cannot wait for the next book in this series! My heart breaks just thinking about it!

So at first it took me a minute to figure everything out because I have not read the rest of the series and there was a bit going on. The characters are great and the author brought out the good, bad and ugly side of the mafia. Well done.

We have a new couple El and Dante, and I love them, and they went thru a lot, especially poor El, but she is a survivor and now she has a hottie by her side, good for her. We have are awesome family, my Nixon, awesome as always, and the rest of the crew that show there loyalty. And then we have poor Chase, that part is heartbreaking, but I am confident that he will find his soulmate. I know I am in the minority, but I was never crazy of Mil, or actually of there relationship, I didn't see the chemistry like Nixon and Trace, but again that's me..

Intense, passionate, and loyal, Dante is all of these and more. This was extremely intense and so heart breaking in parts that I am wowed by it all. What a continuation of The Elite legacy! El's recovery and transformation was powerful. I wanted their story to keep going and can't wait to read more of them and the rest of the family in the next story "Eulogy" once it comes out.

'Enrage'by Rachel Van Dyken is book 8 in the "Eagle Elite" series. This is the story of Dante and El. I have not yet read the other books in this series, so for me this was a standalone book. El was taken from the Russians and now is under the Sicilian Mafia protection. El feels dead inside after all that she has been through. But looking at Dante makes her feel alive...a feeling she is at first upset about. El feels that she will always be 'emotionally bleeding' until her heart stops. El is just waiting until this new mafia makes her earn her keep just as Xavier had done. Dante is going through his own trauma by working his way into the Mafia working on him to build him up. This 'training' involves beatings and a lot of mental stuff to build him up to be the fighter / member they need. At first Dante thinks the mafia made a mistake in taking in El calls her a 'mistake' and the 'enemy' but this start to change when he gets to know her. Dante is pretty intense and working to make himself strong to avenge his father's death. El is scared of everything and waiting for the hurt to start back for her with this new group of people she is living with. This was a really intense book to read due to the love / hate that El and Dante felt but Dante couldn't fight his feelings for long and El grew to be stronger. Together they they helped each other. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

What can I say about this amazing book? While this could be a standalone I do HIGHLY recommend reading the others first, each book just adds to the large and detailed mob-centric world Rachel has created. If you go into this as a standalone there will be spoilers of previous books. You’ve been warned. I desperately want to talk about parts of the plot of this book  . . . but I can’t and it’s killing me. I want to rant, I want to rave, and mostly I want to come up with a million different conspiracy theories that would have you realizing just how crazy I am. But to do that I would have to give too much away so, sadly, I can’t. But let me tell you how this book made me feel. I was delighted by the connection I felt between Dante and El. Pain, I felt so much pain for the h*** El has been through and the internal struggles Dante is constantly living with. Heat, wow were they how, enough said. Delight, when they finally realized what we all knew and stopped avoiding the unavoidable. Surprise, you’ll see. Anticipation and hope because Rachel has never let me down. Now, I am fully aware that out of context none of that makes a d*** bit of sense but just trust that Rachel Van Dyken is a phenomenal writer and she won’t let you down. ~miranda
