Entertaining Desserts

Entertaining Desserts

by Deirdre Pirie, Louis Wallach (Photographer)

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
This book is the outgrowth of an annual Christmas party Pirie gives where she serves 25 to 40 desserts to 100 guests. There are some attractive ideas here, but the recipe procedures are sometimes vague (no instructions for unmolding the upside down cake, which can be difficult) or inconsistent (on one page she advises refrigerating a cake if necessary, but then instructs the reader not to refrigerate a cake iced with fondant), and good dessert books, such as any of Maida Heatter's, abound. For large pastry collections only.
