However, the instructions are not always very clear. I asked an instructor for help and even she had difficulty understanding what was to be done.

I found it a little confusing. The terms they used were, I feel was not at all easy to learn from, but I learn better from pictures instead of words. The patterns are nice created for the beginner and these were easy to figure out.

Very detailed instructions which explain the numerous types of basic units (triangles and rectangles) which are used to create entrelac. The structure of the book makes it a reference tool as well as a pattern book. The step-by-step diagrams accompanied with clearly worded directions help demystify entrelac and breaks it from a rigid form to body shaping styles. I love this book. It has taught me how to knit and purl backwards which is a great approach to making entrelac pieces. If you can knit, purl, knit two together and purl two together, then you can use this book to make beautiful additions to your wardrobe.

I brought this and this book is not for a beginner, the instructions are not detailed as to the technique, to me this book is more for a immediate to advance knitter.
