Every decision is an ending ... and a beginning

Broke and close to broken-hearted, Jess Donovan doesn't know what to do with her life. She's lost her job and she's discovered that the man she loves, the charismatic and elusive Tyler Smith, has a troubled past that's left him damaged...perhaps beyond repair. Unable to trust him or her feelings, when her long-lost father invites her to visit him a continent away, she leaps at the chance to get some perspective.

In dazzling New Zealand, her fortunes seem to be turning way, way up. She lands a lucrative gig in a tourism commercial, cast opposite Kaleb Te Anga, a guy who's Tyler's opposite in every way. When things heat up between them on-set, fake kisses turning to hot real kisses, Jess finds herself torn. Is this just a holiday hook-up, or something deeper? How can she feel so much for two different people, and how will she ever choose between them?

If she gets that chance ... because her indecisive heart might mean she'll lose them both.

This was a well-written, quick read. It is the second in a series which continued on from where the first left off. Jess has agreed to travel to New Zealand to re-connect with the father she hasn't seen since she was a child. She also needs time to think about her relationship with Tyler, who had not told her about elements of her past that have surfaced recently. In New Zealand she meets Kaleb, a man who is very different from Tyler but who she is attracted to as well... I am eager to read the next book in the series! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jess leaves Tyler behind and travels to New Zealand, to find her Dad. Neither Jess nor her dad know why her mom left all those years ago, taking young Jess with her. Jess is noticed by a film crew in the airport who is Very interested in using Jess in their commercial they are making about New Zealand. At first Jess is interested, because this would provide her some cash, that she could live on, because, she's been looking for a job. She tells her dad when they meet at the airport, and her dad tells her they will talk about it & then Jess can decide what she wants to do. She meets her step mom and 2 cousins that are the step mom Katy's sisters' kids.. They are both close to the age of Jess, so they have lots in common--even if its just laughing at each others' reactions to words used by New Zealanders or Americans. She talks to her dad & finds out that she does want to pursue the acting for the commercial. Kaleb and Darcy (the cousins) are invited to go along, also--using Kaleb as the male lead opposite Jess and Darcy as an extra. Jess feels sorrow at not being able to spend exclusive time with her dad that she's come so far to see. Her dad says there's plenty of time. Jess experience a bad earthquake which leads her to personal information about Kaleb and Darcy, They experienced an EPIC earthquake in their home in Christchurch which destroyed everything they ever had. Join all three of them on their Epic journey to find themselves. I liked this book #3, but I enjoyed #1 best. I read them out of order. I will continue to read this series and see if my opinions change.

This is the 2nd book in the "Going the Distance" series and picks up where the 1st book left off. Jess Donovan leaves Colorado behind and travels to New Zealand to stay with the father that she never knew. Her life takes a turn for the better and brings a new man, Kaleb Te Anga, into her life. I thought the best part of the story was the scenery. I'm not a fan of Jess who presents as a passive person that things happen to and can be too serious for my taste. Thanks to the Inner Circle for the copy of this book.

I've never been to New Zealand but the descriptive images in this book make me feel as though I have. This is the third book in this series I've read all three in two days and can't wait for December to read the next. The characters- Jess, Kaleb and Tyler have all found places in my heart and mind. Jess is such has such a strong, knowing and yet so innocent young woman coming into her own and finally not on her own anymore. Tyler and Kaleb ,couldn't be more different, both love her and she loves both of them. I can see why in !,,and after reading Epic I can't decide which one she should choose! I'm glad I don't have to make that decision! This ia wonderful book and I look forward to more books from this author. Bev N.
