Overview

Eric Bischoff: Controversy Creates Cash by Eric Bischoff, Jeremy Roberts

The exciting no-holds-barred autobiography of former WCW president and current WWE Raw General Manager, Eric Bishoff—the only person who was able to beat Vince McMahon and the WWE at their own game.

Eric Bischoff has been called pro wrestling's most hated man. Booed, reviled, and burned in effigy, he's been struck by everything from beer bottles to fists. Though industry critics have scorned his spectacular rise and fall at World Championship Wrestling, Bischoff's influence still resonates. For years, Bischoff kept quiet while industry "pundits" distorted the truth about the infamous Monday Night Wars, basing their accounts on rumors and innuendo. Finally, Bischoff tells what really happened.

Beginning with his days as a salesman for the American Wrestling Association, Bischoff exposes the industry's inner workings, from the real numbers behind WCW's red ink to the devastating impact of the corporate mergers. Among his revelations: How WCW became a national brand and revolutionized the industry. How Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, and Steve Austin shaped WCW, and how corporate politics killed it. And how he found his inner heel and learned to love being the guy everyone loves to despise.

Reflecting on his childhood, his family, and the pressures of notoriety, Bischoff tells how he found contentment after being unceremoniously "sent home." Love him or hate him, readers will never look at pro wrestling the same way again after reading Eric Bischoff's story in Controversy Creates Cash.

THIS BOOK IS ON FIRE. THIS IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST AND BEST WRESTLING BOOKS EVER. THIS BOOK GOES INTO SO MUCH PERSONAL DETAIL THAT VINCE MCMAHON WILL WANT TO CRAWL UP BIG SHOW'S ASS AGAIN AND NEVER EVER COME OUT FROM HIS ASS. ERIC BISCHOFF DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB IN WRITING THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK SHOULD BE NUMBER 1 IN NY TIMES BEST SELLER LIST. ERIC BISCHOFF EXPOSES THE REAL DEAL AND SOME OF IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE BUT ITS TRUE. THIS BOOK OPENS YOUR EYES TO SEE THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. HE GOES INTO SUCH DETAILS THAT EVEN WITH A MICROSCOPE YOU COULD NEVER SEE OR KNOW. ERIC BISCHOFF IS A TRUE TALENT AND ONE OF THE BEST WRITERS OF THIS CENTURY.

Absolutely one of the best wrestling books out there, this coming from a non wrestling fan. Tells the story of a man who takes a company from the cellar and makes it the hottest show on cable, only to have the corporate suits destroy it for their own vanity. A must read for fans.

This book definitely sells teh contreversy of a behind the scenes few of Wreslting in the late 90's. Along with revealing stories of relationships with wreslters the likes of Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, Lex Luger and Sting. This book gives the reader a true fell of the contreversey that comes with the business. Great read for any wreslting fan

The biggest problem I have with the book is that it is billed as being controversial and it really isn't. It is a good look back to the days of the Monday Night Wars but it really isn't controversial or anything that the causual wrestling fan hadn't figured out clicking from one show to another. The deep inner workings are interesting though

If you were a WCW fan in the 1990s, you need to read this book. Eric Bischoff goes into great detail about what really happened during the Monday Night Wars and gives good eveidence why Time Warner is to blame for the death of World Championship Wrestling. If you follow the business of wrestling, or did at the time, I suggest you read it. I read this book in one sitting, it was fascinating!
