The story felt forced and didn't make sense at times (the "door guy"), like some things should have been explained better, but never were, and I found it hard to believe a lot of the main character's actions. The story is short and there are apparently others in the series, so perhaps more background is to be found in the other books, but unfortunately this story didn't draw me in enough to want to continue reading. This book contains a number of typos, mostly in the form of missing words, which I found amusing since the mentor in the book cautions the main character to check for that in her manuscript.

Escape From Reality by Adriana Hunter Invitation to Eden #3 Tags: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, Supernatural, M/F Length: Prologue + 10 Chapters *Purchased and read as part of THE BAD BOYS OF EDEN: Billionaires, Alphas, Bikers, and Doms Boxed Set. Note: The blurb isn't entirely accurate, however the one in the box set is. The invitation had nothing to do with a male, and Sebastian Philips wasn't a stranger with dark secrets. Keep in mind this is a contemporary adult romance (although B&N and ARe have it down as New Adult) with a supernatural/fantasy twist. **Warning, may be a bit spoilerish** Romance author Leila just returned from a RWA conference totally defeated. Her latest manuscript wasn't as successful as she'd thought. But a surprise invitation to Eden from Cheryl Bullard, a revered author, and the offer of some mentoring may just be what she needs.  What I liked about Leila was that she didn't give up on her dream of writing, and she was open to criticism and guidance. Her homework was to write a new story from scratch. Every day she'd write a few pages and at the end of the day, leave them for Cheryl to be edited. The story took off once it became apparent that her chapters were coming to life, literally. Leila thought her hero come to life was a hired actor, but she was willing to play along. That part of the story wasn't confusing. But I got lost with some of the in between parts, for instance the carving on the door that would come to life and show her with another man, not her hero. And what happened with him near the end of the story to cause the "conflict".  I don't have anything to say about the hero because he just seemed flat to me. Perhaps because he was conjured up, and not really real. Are you confused yet? Overall, it was a steamy story, albeit a little corny for my taste. But the idea was quite entertaining, and I enjoyed the surprise ending. Now, if only I could get my hands on one of those doors.

Great Read ...but left me sort of hanging. I loved this book solely for the reason that "phantom" lovers are the best because the appeal here is, of course, the mystery. I absolutely love how Adriana Hunter takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotionally built up eroticism. My only wish for this story in particular is for the story to have been longer or at least have some kind of epilogue to give the reader a sense of..completion, I guess. Oh well. I'll take what I can get and this book was a wonderful break from the other cliche romance stories. Great job to the author and Happy Reading to my fellow readers!

Adriana Hunter is one of my go-to authors for paranormal/shifter romances. I've read almost all of her books and love each one! While there are paranormal elements to this story it was a bit of a shift for me in comparison to her other works that I have read. The beginning was a bit slow for me. I was confused at first as to where the storyline was going and it just didn't grab my attention immediately. All that changed once the main character, Leila, arrived on her tropical island. Once her adventure started there is when I began to really get into the story. There were so many interesting aspects to this story; she's a budding writer that's having difficulty expressing the emotions of her love scenes and is there, auspiciously, to be mentored by her writing hero but being on the island is like living in a dream. She begins to question the magic of the island; are her experiences reality, is she dreaming, or is the entire trip being set up by the woman she wants to trust? I felt that some of the supporting characters could have benefited from further details in regards to their back story, but this is a novella length book and that always isn't possible. In summary, I was completely surprised by the ending; as a frequent reader of paranormal romance I have a good eye for "what's coming" as well as a vivid imagination, but Escape From Reality kept me guessing from start to finish. A fun and unique reading experience, well written, and a wonderful addition to the Invitation to Eden series! A copy of Escape From Reality was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

In Escape From Reality (Invitation to Eden #3) by Adriana Hunter, would be romance novelist Leila returns home from writing conference dejected, her confidence shot.  When she finds a mysterious invitation from her admired author on her doorstep, Leila take a leap of faith and heads off on an unknown adventure.   Leila ends up on the Island of Eden, in the company of her favorite author, who will guide her as she learns to write romance from the heart.  There appear to be no other guests...until Sebastion shows up.  Is he real though?  Or a figment of Leila's imagination?  As Leila writes from the heart, she also comes into herself as the passionate woman she is.  When what she writes starts coming to life is it the magic of the Island of Eden?  A realistic fantasy?  Or has being on  Eden helped Leila to find what she's always been looking for?    Escape From Reality is the only book I've read so far in the Invitation to Eden series and though it was not at all what I expected, I found Escape From Reality to be unique, captivating, and hot!  Whether or not what Leila is experience is real or imagined, her charater is realistic and the feelings she has are easy to relate to.    Adriana is very creative in her writing in Escape From Reality, with a great pace to a story that will take you on an unexpected adventure.  I love the setting of Eden, I can really picture it in my mind, smell the air, feel and hear the water.  This makes Escape From Reality all the more enjoyable, and truly a great place to escape to.   I'd recommend Escape From Reality by Adriana Hunter to any romance reader who likes romance, fantasty and heat!

This book is from the Welcome to Eden series by author Adriana Hunter and I am doing an honest review of this book for the author. Leila Connors is a romance author but while she is attending a writing conference and meeting her favorite author. But the workshop does not go as she had hoped when the author critiques her work and it was bad from the very first sentence of her work. While on an island she comes to realize how she can make her work better for her audience and so begins her new life. I really loved how the story line shows you how authors feelings and how they achieve the work from their own imagination. Everything flows smoothly and the way things are described it is almost like you can really see it in your mind. The main character Leila goes through so much trying to fulfill her dream of being a better romance writer and in the end her dream comes true with the help of her character from her book. This is a true romance book and anyone who loves books like this will do well to pick it up.

Adriana Hunter did an amazing job of keeping and holding my attention in this easy read. She took the steps of how to write a book and put it all together to make a book. Leila and Sebastian are a wonderful and mysterious couple that grows on you...would be nice to read a sequel! Hint hint :)

Leila Connors is a romance author. One day she receives a mysterious invitation to spend an all-expense paid week on a tropical island, it simply seems too good to be true. Bad relationships a career that isn't going well for her she decides why not go? There she meets Sebastian Phillips. A touch from him feels amazing to her. Hot is what this is! i gotta say it was short but it was good. and i really loved Sebastian! Do not want to get into must of this because i don't want to ruin it but its a must read!

What a wild ride (or Escape) A very enjoyable and original storyline to read.  Loved the fact the author used a writer as the main character in the story. Is it reality or fantasy, you decide.  The character interplay was impeccable and so very interesting to read.  The lines of reality and fantasy blur throughout in such a delectable way.  Makes me want to visit the Island of Eden.  Well written and kept my interest throughout the book.  Another winner of a story by Adriana Hunter.  Highly entertaining and I am so looking forward to her next book.  I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of an honest review and was not compensated.

Really enjoyed this one by Adriana Hunter. The story takes place on the island of Eden, a mysterious place where anything can happen (and just about everything does!). Escape From Reality is a shorter story (about 150 pages) but it's a fun little read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping for more as these characters are fantastic!

Definately not a Wall Banger! I received a free copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. WOW about sums it up. Adriana has me so engrossed with the story from the beginning by putting me in the middle of it and making me feel included with everything that is going on. I love when an author can do that with a story. The magic I felt at the castle was awesome, the descriptive images made it easy to imagine, and then you add the great sex and I was in imagination heaven. Thank you Adriana for another great book to loose myself in.
