Title: Escaped - Running In Fear Book 1 Author: Trinity Blacio Published: 2-5-2017 Publisher: Riverdale Avenue Books Pages: 134 Genre: Erotic Romance; Sub Genre: Paranormal Romance; Shifters; Werewolves; Suspense ISBN: 13: 9781626013438 ASIN: B01N803LEM Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley Rating: 4.25 Stars I received a copy of "Escaped" from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. This first book in the series has a prequel "Searching for the Perfect Mate: Remi's Story" (Remi is Andre's brother.) It shows how Remi fits into "Escaped". Although it does not need to be read for the reader to enjoy "Escaped" It does explain some of Remi's attitude and gives a little insight into Pierre's past. Jaycee has spent the last 15 years on the run from her evil stepfather and mother. Now as the story opens has her in the hospital fighting for her life following a vicious attack from her husband and his friends. This story deals with some troublesome violent subjects such as rape and physical abuse. Although told in flashes of memories that are greatly edited the emotions and pain the characters felt are expressed very well. When Jaycee's mate, the pack Alpha comes to claim her Jaycee's first instinct is to run. Then another mate steps forward and then another... The past comes back to haunt her and threatens not only her life but the lives of those who desire to protect her. The story ends in a cliff-hanger, but the next story will soon be available. Trinity Blacio has revamped the entire series and is reissuing them. Even if you have read it before, you will enjoy the changes she has made. Watch as Jaycee grows in mental strength and physical. Strong enough to dress down her mates, stand up for herself and work towards closer of her past. Can she and her mates learn to show and express their love before the past and misunderstandings tear them all apart? Strong characters with plenty of suspense and action keep the reader glued to this fast paced story from the opening hospital scene to the final scene that gives the reader hope for the future of Jaycee, her mates and the entire pack. I give "Escaped" a 4.25 out of 5 stars and believe it a story that will be read and enjoyed by many. Contains, strong language and explicit sexual scenes. It is in no way suitable for readers under the age of 18

This could have been a good book but it felt rushed. The author tried to put too many twists and turns in the story until you were no longer interested. The characters became to flat. There behavior contradictory.
