We bought this for my 9 year old son on impulse as a gift and he absolutely fell in love with it. A month and a half later he is now re-reading it.

Watterson brings Calvin and Hobbes to life with originality, wonder and fun. I bought this for my seven year-old and I hope he finds it as wonderful as I have.

Okay, so this isn't a book that would turn the world around but if you just want some good old fun reading about a boy and his imaginary friend then you need to read these. I buy them for my son who is an avid fan of Calvin and his antics. He received two of these books for Christmas and loved them both. I think they are the kind of book that a bachelor should have in his house on a coffee table as a great ice breaker especially if your guests have never heard of these two characters.

I was lucky enough to give birth to a "Calvin". He's our middle and always felt like he didn't quite have a place of his own until I introduced him to the entire Calvin and Hobbes collection. Now we have the priveledge of enjoying him with all his uniqueness and spirit AND sharing a bit of his character with friends and relatives with the Calvin comics. HE has someone to relate to and his spirit is soaring! We all love these characters! Thank you Mr. Watterson!

Yes, it's a wonderful book, but the chutzpah of B & N to desribe it as "This new treasury". If you click on the paperback link, you'll see its earlier incarnations--from YEARS ago.

This is Really funny and interesting. I'd like to have all his collection. But I wish he would do more. Oh well.

The Calvin&Hobbes series shows the life of a six year old child growing up with a best friend who's stuffed. Calvin is a child who is trying to survive the 1st grade. Calvins life is revolved around his stuffed tiger and a love/hate relationship with the neighbor girl. He has a good philosophy of life but barely shares it with anyone but his stuffed tiger. Calvin is ofen in trouble but he always has an excuse (even when the excuse is that his tiger did it).
