This little handbook is an absolute must-have for any newbie musician who is thinking about getting into music theory or even treading the waters of orchestral composition. The dictionary sits perfectly at my desk and is an extremely convenient utility to have readily available at your disposal. It covers the intricacies, range, and tone quality of over 150 instruments ranging from the widely used orchestral instruments to the seldom used percussion and it even covers some ethnic instruments such as the Accordion or Mandolin. I definitely recommend this dictionary and the other handbooks in the Essential Dictionary series for musicians.
