This story was fairly run of the mill. It didn’t grip me from the beginning. Their story was interesting. While I liked their love story though, I felt like Sebastian was fairly one dimensional. Also, I know the author is from Australia and some of the terminology that was used was not native to America which considering the book is set in America was a bit jarring for me. Overall, I thought it was a decent book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What a fun book! Vanessa lands her dream job but is thrown into a heck of a mess. Who will she try and protect? I loved all the one liners throughout and had some laugh out loud moments. I absolutely loved the way these two characters meet, it is my favorite part of the book. I loved these two characters! This book was perfect. Intriguing, romantic, sexy, and a little added action all packed within the pages. All together a great book. "What are you doing in the women's change room?" Her voice cracked. "And-naked?" Oh my God, nearly naked in his boxer briefs. She stepped back and placed a hand over her eyes. Do I scream? Turn back around where I came from? "This is the men's."

Well, I have to admit, this one had me at hello. The moment the two main characters bump into each other in the first pages I was hooked. I freely admit that men with emerald eyes and raven hair are my kryptonite. Then later finding out he had one of my favourite names too...well…clearly destined to become my latest fictional crush. And he did not disappoint! Vanessa has landed a coveted job at one of most respected investment companies. However, her mother is in some major trouble. and a shady detective coerces her into spying on her new company using her mothers predicament as leverage. As to be expected, the CEO of the company turns out to be the mystery man from the week before. Cue instant chemistry and steamy moments. Vanessa is a smart and sensitive character with a goofy sense of humour. Sebastian is worthy of dreamboat book-boyfriend status and not just because he is gorgeous. He has a sensitivity and attentiveness that is appealing too. I would have liked a little more background on his character to know him a bit better, especially in regards to issues surrounding to his not-so-nice father. I love the birthday dinner scene with Vanessa and her family. The aunts were hilarious. Full of steamy encounters with a good dose of tenderness . I love the witty humour and the meet-cute at the start. Thoroughly compelling – I ended up staying up until 1am to finish it all in one night. I’m looking forward to discovering more writing from Liv soon.

This is the first book in Liv Arnold’s Invested in You series featuring Vanessa Lang, hired at the Stone Corps Investment firm, and Sebastian Stone, CEO of Stone Corp. Vanessa is pursued by Sebastian, but she is spying on him for law enforcement due to her mother’s crime. I recommend this quick read with its well developed primary and secondary characters, fun banter, a plot with twists and turns, and a sweet and steamy romance. When I read novels such as Etched in Stone, the 50 Shades of Gray trilogy, or even the sweet, not steamy hallmark movies, I need to immediately suspend some belief. Indulgent erotica romances have to have everything work in their favor, that is just how it is. Put away the fact that our adorable main character has a klepto mother who is a handful, JUST graduating college, has already interviewed for her dream job that has a too young too perfect boss at its helm, and said business, Stone Corp, is being looked at for insider training. Ok, I can go along with all what i just mentioned to fill the pages in between steaming sex scenes, what I couldn't figure out was the time frame of this roamnce they seemed to go from meeting eachother to talk about moving in WHILE she is learning her new job and dealing with a pain in the bumm Detective and the klepto mother. Basically the novel is too short for everything it tries to walk you through. The Characters are wonderfully sweet, sexy, and have great, not forced, chemistry BUT i feel the author could have taken us along for a more romantic getting to know eachother while we watch and bite our lips as they discover their bodies and what makes eachother tick.

The entire time I was reading this story I was happy. Happy because another new-to-me author exceeded by expectations. Happy because even though this story is short; it is not lacking. Could there be more development in areas? Sure, but the story is not lacking. Let me repeat lol not lacking. I loved Vanessa and Sebastian both from the moment they hit the page. Their story was captivating and hot! Well done!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.. I thought this book was super adorable! I loved the immediate vibe between Vanessa and Sebastian. I love that it wasn't insta-love but there was still some pretty hot sex. What would you do if you were being forced to choose who to destroy? Your mom or the person you're falling for??

The story is written well and flows nicely. It captured my attention and made me want to know what came next. There are also plenty of naughty moments that will definitely hold your attention. Sebastian, himself, is one heck of a dirty talker and I could love him on this alone. I loved the corny banter between them. It was cute and so them. With that being said however, I found the relationship between Vanessa and Sebastian rushed. The fall into love for them is not gradual, it’s insta-love. This for me, is not my favorite. The relationship between them advances too quickly, more so since there doesn’t seem to be an exact time frame. The feelings and emotions of betrayal and solidarity toward each other seemed forced because of this in my opinion. I also didn’t feel Vanessa’s angst. With her mother’s klepto tendencies and the fact the she is also infiltrating Sebastian’s business as a spy, I thought I would feel some dread or emotion but sadly didn’t. It’s written there in black and white but for me, there was no feels behind it. Overall, I loved the characters and the story line but wish I felt the connection and the emotions between and for the characters that a read like this normally evokes. I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
