Vampire Raymond Metcalf has too many balls to juggle and life is getting more complicated by the minute. As if working with a covert team of sexy vampires to protect the President isn’t enough, he has to deal with his rebellious half-breed son, save the President from a crazed vampire, and break in a new director for his team since the last one, his best friend and the only human he trusts, has decided to retire. Why does his friend’s replacement have to be the most beautiful human woman Raymond has ever seen?

Career military woman, Alex Brennan, is being offered the promotion of a lifetime, and with it a romance that she has desperately been seeking. Does she dare accept the position as Director of the COLONY, an elite group of deadly creatures of the night and risk a dangerous romance with a man who isn’t even human? Together, can they save the President?

Vampires exist among us. They can be your neighbor, your best friend, a teacher for your child, etc. They alter their aged appearance based upon the amount of blood they consume. They move to a new area, drink a lot of blood, and appear
young. Slowly they limit their intake of blood and age, right in front of our unsuspecting eyes. After decades, they fake their death, move, and do it over and over again.

Most live quiet lives in an effort to blend in. Some, however, want power and control.

The COLONY is an elite group of vampires sworn to protect the President
of the United States from these rogue vampires.

The COLONY Series is a suspenseful and sensual vampire fiction series that has earned five-star reviews from fans of some of the best paranormal romance series like "Love at Stake", the Argeneau series, and the "Black Dagger Brotherhood."

This novel is for individuals 18+ years of age as it contains sexual content. It is a light-hearted (non-dark) romance and should not be considered a political thriller. Although there are references to the President, presidential procedures, the White House and Washington DC, the political arena is a backdrop for the romance. With that said, there is action and suspense in the novel that adds a dimension of excitement to the hot romance.

Other books in the series:

#2) United Service
#3) Enduring Service
#4) Williams' Tale
#5) Reliant Service

This story was not only an exciting read, it was an education. I always wondered while reading vampire stories before (which I love), what it would be like to date one and to fall in love with one as a human. When I read a story I really like to "get into it," can't you tell? :-) In Ms. Morris's story here, I put myself right in place of Alex while she met, dated and fell in love with Raymond. I like Ms. Morris's description of the "special, secret" protection service for the President and why it was formed. I liked her description of how blood supply was obtained and kept for the vampires in the President's service, her description of Alex's curiosity about all things vampire and the answers she derived from the vampires in the President's service, and how Alex came to love Raymond despite the differences. And, of course, there were bad guys and suspenseful action on subduing them! This story was really a great adventure and romance all rolled into one. I recommend this first of the series and intend to read the rest of the series as they are released.

One the best one paranormal books ever. I love this book. It was diffent then all the other vampire book out there. This book was about the grovenment knows about. Vampires are part of the spect service a other unit. That was so cool! The head unit is always a human and the old leave team. The new finding out everyone. After you leave the team and a human, you lose mems of vampired and team. That is sad for you and vampires. They put a dices in head if you a human, so other vampires cant mind control you. I do not that good or bad. You should this book, if you love paranormal book and need a chage or try of same stuff.

Regina Morris’s Eternal Service (Colony Vampires Book 1) is an enthralling and unique story about special ops of vampires who protect the US President. Other readers have outline the plot of the story. This tale is wonderfully exciting with mystery, seduction, drama, and different types of vampires. Morris crafted a brilliant story that is spellbinding. Her characters are vivid and they stayed with me when I finished the story. I was especially connected to Raymond and Alex. Well done!!

WOW! I really enjoyed this book. I’m not a big vampire fan but loved the originality and the authors writing style. Regina, the author, has written a well crafted, well thought out, creative story that I envisioned as being a great TV series as I was reading it. She managed to bring vamps into todays world with all the high tech necessities and abilities to blend in with the living. "The Colony” is a special ops team secured to protect the president. Within this team are families with emotions, different talents and skills, and rules to live by. Alex, a dedicated agent, is promoted and becomes the Colony Director, who will co-ordinate between the president, the agency, and the vampires in The Colony. As the story unfolds, Alex learns more about the vampires abilities and needs, along with the reader. But another interesting storyline is the sexual tension that develops between Alex and Raymond, who is in charge of the clan. Both Alex and Raymond have obstacles to overcome in order for them to get together. will they or won’t they? This author has thought this all out and you are not left hanging with parts that do not match up. Questions will be answered. This story has it all tension, humor, seduction, mystery, and drama. Well what can I say, every other reviewer has covered about everything I’d like to say SO speaking for myself, what more can I say to prove I loved it but that I bought United Service (The Colony Book 2)!!!!!

Highly recommend to read. Very, very informative on many issues, especially on the secret operations of protecting the president of the Usa. The lives of the vampires involved and the intrecate parts they play in protecting the president is higher than the Secret Service could possible survive realize. It makes you question if all this could be real. Would love to read the entire series and would recommend to others. Great read.

4.5 Stars! I have said it before, and I will say it again, and again the future I'm sure. With so many books out there now, and as many genres as there are, having a book that stands out is something that is very important with authors. If, as a reader, you are reading the same story over and over it gets very boring and annoying. Because honestly why am I going to be spending my money on a book that I can figure out what is going to happen in the end? With this book, there were some parts where it was obvious what was going to happen. But they ended up working out during the course of the book because there were some parts that I didn't see coming, and some parts that made me laugh out loud. I actually highlighed in this book, which is one of those things that I don't do that often!! “It's just odd. She couldn't have known about my stained clothing, and yet she asked what I was wearing.” (…) “You're so out of touch you didn't even see that fly lady wanting your ass and askin' for phone sex.” (…) Raymond looked down at his phone, and he shook his head. “Sounds a bit impersonal. Plus we have work to do,” Raymond said as he put his phone away. He wondered if phone sex was what the phone option *69 meant." So as you can tell, there are some parts that are funny, ok that was funny to me at least! The characters that are introduced during the course of this book were done in a way that I was able to follow and understand what was going on. With this being the first book in a series, there was a little bit of information overload, but it didn't take over the whole story. While there were a lot of characters introduced you were able to focus on the main characters of this book. All of the people in this book were explained in the way even after being introduced to them, later on in the story you could still recall information about them. The storyline itself was done really well also. You were able to follow the story, and the drama kept you turning the pages wanting to find out what was going to happen next. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and I think it was a great start to a new series. I can't wait to see more from the author in the future!

Eternal Service The Colony (book 1) by Regina Morris Eternal Service is an excellent start to a new series. Alex is a strong, independent, and slightly broken career minded woman. She is given the chance at a big promotion as Security Director, the liaison between the President and a security group called The Colony . Then she learns that monsters do exist in the form of Vampires. Raymond is a founder of The Colony. He is big, strong, honorable and Vampire. He found his love years ago and lost her. He isn't looking for love again, until he meets Alex. I love the new twist that Regina has used with the vampires in this story. It is unique and very refreshing. I love all the characters and am looking forward to learning more about each one as the series progresses. I highly recommend this book.

Raymond Metcalf has a job. He is a vampire, the master of the vampire coven, The Colony, and his job is to protect the president of the United States from rogue vampires. The humans, with very few exceptions, do not know that vampires even exist, much less try to target the most important man in the country. And Raymond is trying to make sure that they remain clueless. Alex Brennan, a career military woman, has been selected to take over the liaison between the Colony vampires and the government. She sees this as a great career move, even after she finds out there are vampires and meets the very handsome, very desirable Raymond Metcalf. Then it’s a question of can she do the job, protect the president, and not fall for the vampire? And, can they stop the plot to kill the president? I’m now officially a huge fan of The Colony and of Regina Morris. I like mainstream thrillers; they are a treat when I want to get away from paranormal occasionally. To have my love of thrillers combined with vampires, well, let’s just say this there were a lot of thrills along with the story of Raymond and Alex. Regina Morris has defined The Colony as a vampire coven, a family group of vampires that consists of Raymond, his sister Sulie, his son Sterling, who is a half-breed, and a married couple William and Jackie, with their kids, Ben Gatto, and “made” vampires Mason Warner and Daniel. Each member has their specific job with the government. They work to stop attacks on the president and government by other vampires who want power for themselves. And, of course, there are plots to harm the president in this book, and Raymond and his team have to work to stop it, while he and Alex keep trying to fall in love and fight against it. Eternal Service is the first of a series and this one defines the world Morris has created by allowing Dixon, the outgoing Colony Liaison and Raymond to tell Alex about the vampires as she finds out they exist. It sometimes gets a bit heavy in the descriptions at times, but it is believable in scope. I quickly forgot that this was background necessary for the story and just enjoyed finding out about the Colony. And the action scenes were very well done. I think this would make a great movie, too. There are four books planned for the series so far and they are coming out about every six months from spring 2013 with Eternal Service. I look forward to getting the entire series; I want to see how she stretches the work of the Colony. Charlayne Elizabeth Denney Paranormal Romance Guild

**4.5 Stars** Y'all know I love me some vampires. Hot, sexy, and very gentlemanly ones? All the better! I also believe I have said that I love it when an author takes vampire lore and makes it their own...puts a new spin on them. I am completely enamored with the premise of this series! A cover arm of the Secret Service comprised of vampires?!? Tasked with protecting the President from threats both mortal and immortal alike? Sign.Me.Up. Eternal Service is the first in a new series. The premise alone intrigued me and the book did not disappoint. Eternal Service had the dubious job of doing all the world building for the series and Ms. Morris did an exceptional job. I can't say enough about how she took vampire lore and put her mark on it. The way vampires feed alters their appearance so they can blend into society. And an elite group is used to protect the President...Genius!  I was also captivated by the action and romance. The romance between the central characters, Alex and Raymond, had a slow build up which reflects the time in which Raymond grew up. The action was also slow in developing but very suspenseful. That Alex is Raymond's new director poses a minor problem since they are attracted to one another. And they both must work quickly, along with their team, to stop the latest threat to the President. I adore all the characters that inhabit this new world. Alex and Raymond were obviously the focal couple for this book and I love them both. Alex, with her strength and intelligence, and Raymond, with his power and old world charm, are an excellent match. As for the other characters, Sulie, who is Raymond's sister, Sterling, Raymond's son, Ben, Dixon, even William and Jackie, are all superbly drawn. I want to know what the future will bring for them entire team...but Sulie and Sterling in particular. *hint-hint* Eternal Service is a splendid introduction to this new series. With a refreshing twist on vampires, well drawn characters and the right balance between romance and suspense, it is a very satisfying read. And I am anxious for the next installment.
