Everville: The Rise of Mallory by Roy Huff is the third book in the Everville fantasy series written for young adults. There is a lot of backfill, but I recommend reading the books in order to fully understand the epic struggle. In this book, Owen Sage visits the third Pillar of Truth to learn how to combat Mallory and his dragon, Rathlar. Meanwhile, the other worlds are preparing for a war that could end of the multiverse, their world as the know it. As an adult, I did not find this book as engaging as the first two books: the characters were flat and not as well-developed, the dialog did not flow as well, the plot seemed too convenient, and there were quite a few typos and grammar errors. On the other hand, Mr. Huff's description of the shape-shifting Alarians is very imaginative as is Owen Sage's method of saving the world, though his conversation with Rathlar was not very convincing, There are still mysteries in Everville and 4 Pillars of Truth for Owen Sage to visit. I hope Mr. Huff can take his time with the next installment and delivery a story that is a satisfying as the first two books in this serie

The saga continues. In this third book in the Everville Series, Owen Sage, the undefeated hero, has to face the evil villain, Mallory, who shows up from the previous book. This time, Mallory is using a powerful dragon to aid the forces of Them and fight the Keepers. It's Owen's job (along with a little help from his friends) to protect the world of Everville from the madness of power-hungry Mallory. Once again, author Roy Huff has seamlessly connected the earthly world with the fantasy world of Everville. There are lots of imaginative magical creatures, fast-paced action, and memorable characters to make this an appealing read for sci-fi/fantasy lovers
