Overview

When I was little, I was under the impression that guys rode in on white horses and rescued the fair damsel from the dragon. They'd ride off into the sunset, share true loves kiss and live happily ever after.
Nobody ever told me it was a lie.
Or that the only guy who would rescue you in High School was the school nerd with Star Wars t-shirts and glasses thicker than an airplane window.
I guess it shouldn't come as much of a shock that once I graduated high school and started "my career" the first guy to sweep me off my feet was a complete loser, followed by someone who still lived with his mother, and finally coming full circle to where Im sitting now. At some chicks wedding while my boyfriend stands up in the middle of the ceremony and yells, "I object!"
Disney did not prepare me for this.
Bad gets worse when I run into the ghost of high school nerds past only to find him a smoking hot firefighter. Unfortunately, he remembers how I treated him, so now I'm the nerd and he's the sexy one. Pretty sure Karma's coming for me in a really big way especially considering Preston refuses to leave me alone and ends up on vacation with me and my friends, friends he stole by the way, in Hawaii.
He says he likes me, yet annoys me at every turn, and I can't help but think he wants some sort of revenge for turning him down in front of the entire student body. One things for certain, this vacation? Not going to end well. Besides it's not like I'm going to fall for him...nope. Not..at *cough* all.

Reviewed By~Tee Review Copy Provided By~Author It has been eight years since Amanda turned down Preston’s request to go to the prom with him in front of their entire High School. Eight years is a very long time for Preston to hold a grudge but is that what he has in mind when they meet up again? This is a laugh out loud book, for you never know if it is time for her to pay back in Preston’s mind, or is it Amanda feeling bad for the way she treated him in high school. Amanda is very childish and jumps to conclusion through the whole book. How Preston puts up with them I do not know but he must either be out for revenge or could he actually be in love with her still? Preston has matured a lot on many levels, including the fact that he’s a fireman with abs that is better described as a washboard. Amanda can’t run from how she feels about him but she always wonders if it is payback time. This is a funny read and one you will enjoy. There is some deceit with these two but I really think it is one you will enjoy reading even with some of the child like things that are written.

Enjoyed this book. It was funny and cute. You quickly fall in love with Amanda and Preston. Their sarcasm and wit most definitly keep you entertained. Amanda has a past that keeps catching up with her! A great quick read either by the pool or stuck in the house!

I fell in love with this couple! Their love-hate banter is hysterical at times and shows a sweet romance. Rachel has done a great job with this story. I recommend this to anyone who wants a great romance with tons of humor!!

Chick was a superficial, totally neurotic and self centered brat. He deserved better. One glaring error ... Hawaii has serious quarantines for animals entering the state, so you cannot just bring a pet along on vacation on short notice etc. Also, I would expect a hairless cat that is cold sensitive would not travel in the cargo hold, but in the cabin under a seat.

I highly recommend this book for a quick humorous pick - me up. I love Rachel Van Dyken's sense of humor, you will laugh out loud at some of the situations Preston and Amanda find themselves in. It wasn't terribly short but I wish it would have been longer. I need to correct another person who reviewed the book, there was only 4 years between Amanda and Preston's interactions, not 8.

I was not impressed with this book at all. I am a very big fan of this author but this was her worst book by far! The  Characters were horrible to read. The girl was a psycho spoiled brat that stomped her feet and hit the poor guy. And  For him being a sexy nerd, he sure sounded pathetic and needy. Hated this one! There were some funny parts but they Were grossly immature to get into the book.

I was intrigued by this because its Rachel Van Dyken's first book. As one of my favorite authors.... I couldn't resist. I laughed... literally out loud! The banter between Preston and Amanda was hilarious. And Amanda's internal dialog was great! Another great RVD novel! I wish there was more to Amanda and Preston's story.

As most of this authors books its funny. There is a more than usual inner monologue within the main character. But you not be disappointed.

This is a cute and sweet love story. I enjoyed this book very much however I like my romance with some good sex scenes in them. This one has none. Not even close. The chemistry between Amanda and Preston is pretty rocky in the begining but then it starts to get better and then it gets even better. Amando has got to be the most paranoid and clumsy woman in the world or she has the worst luck. Lol. At times I was laughing out loud at her and Mrs. Butterworth. I could just picture that cat. Lol. Preston turns out to be the perfect gentlemen. He's sweet, caring, forgiving, funny, and is now totally hot and boyfriend worthy. I do recommend this book to all the young people it's definitely for ages 13 and up. It is 173 pages.

4 You've Come a Long Way Baby-Stars As a huge fan of Dyken's writing I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to read one of her older works. This story about Amanda and Preston was cute.  Preston saved the story for me. I really loved him as the hero. Who doesn't love a nerd gone sexy. He really was a good guy and he obviously didn't forget the girl who captured his heart at the young age of 14. I love how he was forgiving. My only issue is that he was a little too impulsive in his approach to Amanda. My guess is that he hasn't had much interaction with her in the last four years and therefore, how does he know he wants a forever with her, when honestly, she was a little odd. Amanda sort of bugged me in this book as I found her to be annoying. Seriously, other than being a good singer who on occasion got sentimental over her dad, I really did see any redeeming qualities. She was all over the board and I just didn't get what her issues were with Preston after they meet again.  Despite that, I am a huge fan of Dyken and it is fun to see how far she has come in her writing. Other than Preston, the best part of the book was the sneak peak of The Dare. OMG...so cannot wait for that book to come out.
