Love, Love, Love this book! Doris Chan has develobed an extremely intuitive method for creating garments from the top down. By starting at the neckline and creating the yoke you are able to try on the garment and check the fit before you put in all the time and effort it takes to create the length. The introduction gives very valuable fitting and guage information and should be read before beginning any of these designs. I found the pattern instructions to be a bit confusing even though I have been crocheting for years. The introduction should include an explanation of how to use the instructions along with the Special Stitch box. Also, having all the sizes together seems to furthur complicate the instructions. I like that the instructions are written in a large font. It makes them easy to read. The garments are beautiful as well as practical. I am currently working on Eve's tunic and it is coming out fabulous!!!!! The effort needed to follow the instructions are well worth it!
I have made three of the sweaters from this book and they all turned out great! The patterns are a bit hard to follow (partially b/c all the sizes are lumped together). But by making photo copies of the pages so I could highlight my size and keep notes in the margin I was able to keep well organized. If you have been stitching for a while and want a fun challenge I highly recommend this book!!!
