About the Author

"Executive Sweet" is my third book, but first novel. My other two books are non-fiction, and weren't nearly as much fun to write.

After a lifetime of reading general fiction, I discovered romance at age 59, and fell in love with it. Now I fill my time reading and writing romance novels.

Also, I never drank whiskey before. But since I wrote characters who drink it, I became curious. Now it’s my favorite drink.

Life in Northern California is full of surprises, including this book. I have been happily married for nearly thirty years, and we have raised two wonderful children. I honestly wouldn't trade places with anyone else, living or dead, real or imagined.

Kay Samson is excited to finally start working after graduating college as Valedictorian and receiving her MBA. She worked hard to get straight A’s, but she also piled up a large amount of student loans. She knows her life is about to change, because she is going to be able to use all of her knowledge and work her way up in the Yorick Corporation. Unfortunately for her, the CEO is known as the Playboy around town and it seems Kay’s impressive good looks have made it to the top of the food chain. Her first day orientation is delayed and she is directed to the top floor to speak to Dan Avery, Mr. Playboy CEO, himself. Dan Avery is not your typical CEO that was born into the highly wealthy and famous Westerly family, since he has worked hard to make it to the top. Dan has been in search for the perfect, killer partner to plan out a few distraction games and he knows Kay is the one, just so long as she accepts. Will their games flow smoothly, or will the game cost them everything? Sage Ardman weaves a tale straight from the fantasy of corporate romance. Executive Sweet is a contemporary romance with a taste of business suspense. Each new distraction game not only increases the financial opportunity, but it also increases the inner-debate within the main characters. The book starts off a bit slow, but quickly picks up at heated pace. Kay comes across as the perfect woman, not only extremely smart, but incredibly beautiful too. Though these are not necessarily attributes most women will relate to, her struggles to accept herself and the morality of the games will give readers a question to ponder: How far would they go to bring down the bad guy and pay off their debt? Executive Sweet is a tantalizing start to the Westerly series. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this book. The first chapter had me wondering just how much spice would be involved in this high-stakes corporate game. Each “game” amped up the heat factor, without crossing the line into the popular, provocative world of BDSM. Though some women readers may not approve of Kay using her body to the company’s advantage, they will appreciate her using her brains to come out on top. Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! Sage Ardman’s entertaining and compelling debut romance novel, Executive Sweet, combines erotic high finance business deals and a captivating love story. Kay Samson, recent MBA graduate, has taken a job at Yorick Corporation. Young, smart, and beautiful Kay is asked by the CEO, Dan Avery, to participate in erotic high-powered negotiations in order to get back at men that have cheated the company in previous business dealings. Kay isn’t sure what to make of the offer because she wants men to respect her for her knowledge and not her beauty. But Kay has been hurt by men in the past, so she is more than willing to get back at men in general for her prior hurts. Self-confident and creative, Kay is able to use these skills along with her good looks to distract and manipulate men into signing contracts slanted to be good for only Yorick. I really enjoyed how Kay was able to play these men and felt her ability think on her feet when a deal looks like it is slipping away made her an interesting character. As the games get sexier and sexier, Kay not only wants to manipulate the mark, but she want to impress Dan too. The sexual tension between Kay and Dan simmers while they are working together. Dan promised not to become romantically involved with Kay, and Dan keeps to this promise, which makes him a likable character. When Kay realizes that Dan is going to stick to his word, she takes matters into her own hands, which I just loved. Kay and Dan’s bedroom play is passionate and blistering hot! Ardman beautifully develops secondary character Doris Chandler who helps Kay and Dan play their games. She is a delightful character who just wants Dan to finally find happiness and points out the obvious to Kay and Dan—that they are in love with each other—which brought a smile to my face. When beginning this story, I wasn’t sure if I would like the con games within the structure of a romance. Ardman does a spectacular job of setting up each of the cons, and her execution of each scene pulls the reader further into the story. I thought Kay’s internal struggles as each con exposes her more and more were convincing, making her a realistic character. Executive Sweet with its unique plot and engaging characters is a page-turning contemporary romance and deliciously seductive summer read. I received an eBook copy from the author for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
