If you haven't been in the Sierra before--or even if you have--this book can give you some background information t help plan your trip. I have spent much time in Yosemite and have hiked an awful lot of the trails, especially the most popular ones. With this book, I was able to discover some new trails to try. I haven't used it for other spots named yet, but would expect to get good information to go to them also.
