Overview

For almost four years, Kitty Langley has been part of a 'mean girls' group called the Bee Hives, the most hated and feared girls at West Windrake High. That is until she witnesses their relentless attack on her former childhood friend. Making a drastic decision, she takes a stand against the dreaded B's and thus becomes their new enemy and number one target. Now an outcast, not only of the B's but of the entire school, she will have to pull from her inner strength as she prepares for the persecution she will face in the name of revenge.

Reed Reynolds is not looking for trouble. He just wants to get through his senior year and work on his music in peace. But when he mistakenly kisses Kitty Langley at their annual Masquerade Dance, he is both appalled and intrigued, never having experienced a kiss so powerful. Reed soon finds himself drawn in by this new Kitty and her tolerance for her so called 'deserved punishment'. But will he endanger himself to defend her against the B's and the entire school in the name of honor--or more importantly, in the name of love?

I was asked to review this book by the Author which i was happy to do so, because i have loved all her books. When i received this book i was in the middle of another one but i actually took a break from that book to read this one. I was not disappointed. This book is great. Its about bullying and standing up for yourself. This book has a great love story between two people who found love when they least expected to. The story of Kitty Langley was so touching and i cried in more then one part. Some were Happy tears, and others were i cant believe that tears. I loved the main characters Kitty, She is so strong but doesn't know it. I love the journey she goes on to find who she is and who she wants to be. Reed's character is wonderful i wish more people were like this. I also thought that it was amazing that the Author brought in her characters from Charity series(which is one of my favorite btw) Charity and Levi make an apperence in the book but not enough to over shadow the characters of this book. But it was great to see Charity and Levi again it made me want to read Charity Moon and Charity Rising again. This book i would recommend for any young adult and any gender. I will definitely be telling my friends to read this book. This is a must read for anyone dealing with bullying or looking for a heart warming good book. I cant wait to see more from this Author!!!!!

First of all, I want to thank DeAnna Kinney for sending me this book early in exchange for a review. And now I want to give her a huge hug and jump up and down excitedly with her because I AM IN THE BOOK!! Well, not me literally, but my name, correct spelling and all!! She had told me there would be a surprise, and boy was she right!! Being a huge fan of all of her other books, and DeAnna Kinney herself, it was the most wonderful of surprises!! There is something so comforting in reading a DeAnna Kinney book. I know what I am going to get, without fail, every time, and that's an adorable and completely engrossing read. Exposing Kitty Langley is another 5 star hit for DeAnna Kinney!! The subject of the book is something that is devastatingly real for thousands of kids in schools around the world. DeAnna Kinney sheds light on the world of bullying and abuse in a way that it breaks your heart one second and makes you proud for those who stand up for themselves and others the next. Kitty Langley used to be a mean girl, part of an exclusive group call the Bee Hives, or B's for short, but majorly changes her ways after having an epiphany and sticking up for a former friend. I loved Kitty, the new version, because of how humble she became and because she fully realized how disgusting her actions had been and how disgusting the B's actions still were. She was brave and I respected her greatly for how she handled all of the horrendous bullying after leaving the B's. She had such a strong spirit that just couldn't be broken, and I liked the message that gives readers. It's a sad reality that children and teens are so cruel to one another, and I liked the positive message this book relays in taking a stand for yourself and others who are being treated poorly. Reed is the prince charming and knight in shinning armor, and he was completely swoon worthy. He was wonderfully protective of Kitty which is a quality I find extremely sexy in a man. As much as Kitty tried to push him away to protect him, he wouldn't let her because he saw through her act, and that made for a wonderfully engaging love story. I also really loved that the book was written going back and forth between Kitty's point of view and Reed's point of view because it was really great to get to read what was going on in Reed's head the whole time too. The appearance of Charity and Levi was a wonderful little surprise because if you've read my reviews of DeAnna Kinney's Charity Moon Series, then you know how much I love Charity and Levi and so it was awesome to get to read about them in this story too. And then I came to chapter 25, and the first thing I saw was my name, and I giggled like the ten year old little girl that the character is :) As you can tell, I loved Exposing Kitty Langley as I do all of DeAnna Kinney's books. I'd also like to clarify that my review isn't biased just because my name is in the book. If you've read any of my reviews for her other books, which don't have my name in them, then you'd know I genuinely love DeAnna Kinney's stories. She has a wonderful way of creating adorable stories with strong heroines, sexy protective heroes, and powerful messages about standing up for what is right. Exposing Kitty Langley is a book that I feel all teens should be required to read, because maybe it would change and improve the way they treat their peers.
