Overview

Extraordinary Women Journalists by Claire Price-Groff, Sipiera

Each title in this series is a collection of short, easy-to-read biographies designed to acquaint children with the accomplishments of extraordinary people. Famous and not-so-famous women and men are recognized for their achievements in education, politics, science, medicine, exploration, music, literature, and sports. Major historical events are also covered as young readers see how these events have helped shape society as we know it today.

From the Colonial era to the present day, women have played many important roles in journalism. This collective biography provides a look at political pundits, suffrage activists, war reporters, gossip and advice columnists, and today's television "superstars". The lives examined include Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Nellie Bly, Hedda Hopper, Ann Landers, Abigail Van Buren, Margaret Bourke-White, Barbara Walters, Cokie Roberts, and many more.

This book is a amazing book! I love all the details that they show about reporters we didn't even know about. I would recommend it to anyone who loves non-fiction, and loves learning new things and new people.
